Basketball Hall of Famer Hubie Brown, 91, will call the final game of his broadcasting career on Feb. 9, ESPN announced Tuesday.
The Feb. 9 game is an afternoon matchup on ABC between the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers that’ll precede the NFL Super Bowl kicking off that evening. The game will take place in Milwaukee, where Brown started his professional coaching career as an assistant for the Bucks in 1972. Brown will work the game alongside play-by-play broadcaster Mike Breen.
Brown is a two-time NBA Coach of the Year — winning the award first in 1978 with the Atlanta Hawks and again in 2004 with the Memphis Grizzlies. ESPN said it plans to honor the legendary coach and broadcaster’s career throughout the Feb. 9 broadcast.
Brown has been associated with the NBA for over 50 years and worked as a national television and radio analyst for 35 years. He has been with ESPN since 2004.
