I use to spend a lot of money on dishcloths. That was before I learned that I could either knit or crochet them. I like this pattern. This one is worked diagonally with yarn that changes color. There is not a lot of thought needed to complete this. I call this a stress releasing pattern.

By looking at the picture provided for this diagonal discloth, a beginner may be put off. Don't let that fool you. The trick is in the type of yarn selected. This will work up in no time and trust me you will love the finished product.

This is a tried-and-true dishcloth pattern that has been around a long time. It is easy to work up and looks good in either a solid color or a self-patterning cotton yarn. I have also made this pattern bigger in soft baby yarn as a baby blanket for a preemie.
