William McKinney is a former United States Marine and during that time he took part in the initial operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. After leaving the Marine Corps he became an assistant wrestling coach at Athens Drive High School in North Carolina, where he met his wife Haley. He is now living in Austin, Texas with his wife Haley and their three daughters Molly, M.E. (Mary Elizabeth), Macy, and son Dash where they are members of Mission Hills Church. William has also attained a BBA with a major in Marketing along with his personal training and sports nutrition certifications.

William comes from a long line of great wrestlers in his family. His family has multiple High School State Champions, All-Americans, and a World Champion. William spent the majority of his wrestling career wrestling for Southern Maryland Wrestling Club, one of the best wrestling clubs on the east coast. In high school William was ranked as high as 5th in the country, along with being a Fila Junior National Freestyle and Greco-Roman All-American and an AAU National Champion.

​William has been coaching youth, high school, college, and senior level athletes since 2000. He spent 4 years as a member of the Maryland National Wrestling Team coaching staff and is now a current member of the Team Texas National Wrestling Team coaching staff. Throughout that time William has had the opportunity to coach along side and learn from some of the best wrestling coaches in the country.
