We the Port of Oakland invest our resources in quality facilities and services for our airport, real estate, and seaport tenants and customers, so that through their activities we create economic vitality, jobs and waterfront enjoyment for Oakland and the region while generating earnings to reinvest in our activities.
The Port of Oakland headquarters is located at 530 Water Street, Oakland, California 94607. The Port of Oakland occupies 19 miles of waterfront on the eastern shore of San Francisco Bay, with 665 acres devoted to maritime activities and another 3,000 acres devoted to aviation activities.
Revenue Divisions
Aviation: The Port of Oakland owns and operates Oakland International Airport and markets its facilities to tenants including airlines and air cargo companies. The airport serves more than 9.8 million passengers and handles more than 1.4 billion pounds of cargo annually.
Maritime: The Port of Oakland owns, manages and markets seaport facilities on San Francisco Bay and the Oakland Estuary. The seaport ranks among the top 4 in the nation and 20 in the world in terms of annual container traffic.
Of Interest
The U.S.S. Potomac is open to the public at Oakland's Jack London Square, fulfilling a two-fold mission: to honor America's president during the Great Depression and World War II; and to provide a living, tangible artifact of the FDR years for students and visitors from around the world. usspotomac.org
The Maritime division also leases and rents facilities for railroad and trucking operations for transporting import and export cargo.
Commercial Real Estate: The Port of Oakland owns and manages more than 400 acres of developable land, including Jack London Square, Embarcadero Cove and the Oakland Airport Business Park.
