Founded in 1819, the city of Tuscaloosa is famously home to the University of Alabama and has many interesting attractions to showcase. Start your visit by soaking up the Tuscaloosa atmosphere at the five-acre Government Plaza Park in the heart of downtown, before taking a stroll along the beautiful Riverwalk which lines the Black Warrior River.

There are many historic sites to visit including several interesting museums, the Black Warrior Model Railroad, the Battle-Friedman historic house and the Tuscaloosa Veterans Memorial Park. In addition you can take a (free) tour of the Mercedes Benz Visitor’s Center, take the kids to the Children’s Hands-On Museum.
