The TYPO3 Association is a not-for-profit organization, founded in 2004 to ensure the long-term development of the web-based content management system TYPO3 CMS. Close to 900 members, companies and freelancers have added their support to the association since then. The association's funds come from membership fees, donations and annual TYPO3-themed conferences.
In accordance with the statutes, the TYPO3 Association supports the free TYPO3 software project under the GNU General Public License. The TYPO3 Association serves the general public by offering software to third parties free of charge.
The TYPO3 Association is an association under Swiss Law. It is based in Baar, Zug, Switzerland. It is non-partisan and denominationally neutral.
In 2016, the TYPO3 Association founded TYPO3 GmbH (colloquially “The TYPO3 Company”), a fully-owned service company providing support and services.
