Border Regions

The Border Regions is a location on Cybertron from the Dreamwave portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

The Border Regions are the subdistricts of Iacon, located neatly around the hub capital and bordered by Nova Cronum, Polyhex, the Tagan Heights, Altihex, and Uraya. Two of its landmarks are the Promontory and the Forum of Enlightenment, the latter of which lies towards the border with Altihex. It seems likely at least part of the Border Regions eventually became (part of) the Wastelands.

Fiction

Dreamwave Generation One continuity

Megatron had the Forum of Enlightenment blown up by activation of the planetary engines, which forced plasma to surge through the vents right up to the forum above. The plasma surge devastated the place, killing all Cybertronians there at the time. Optimus Prime witnessed the destruction from the Tower of Pion and rushed into the Border Regions to check on the situation along with Prowl, Ratchet, and Red Alert. As he lay eyes on the destruction and received updates on the growing body count, Optimus recalled Umbra's words and concluded that Megatron was behind the event. The War Within #2

While Optimus was gone to deal with Megatron, Shockwave led an attack on Iacon and its Border Regions. Regarding this as a suspicious strategy, Prowl contacted Grimlock in Uraya and told him not to come to Iacon's aid, but rather go find Optimus. The War Within #3 Grimlock thus took his team to the former location of the Forum of Enlightenment and descended with them into the crater to follow Optimus Prime's trail. The War Within #4 In the following events, the High Council Pavilions and part of the Border Regions were destroyed by Starscream's activation of the planetary transformation sequence, The War Within #5 prompting the Autobots to relocate to the area around the Promontory. About 800.000 years later, Prowl led a team of Autobots through the Border Regions, past the Predigeon Arch and onto the Tygun Span to get to Nova Cronum. Devastation

Live-action film series

The Border Regions exist and are bordered by Perihex and Kalis. Iacon, the location of the Plasma Energy Chamber and the one of the Orbital Beta Platform can be found some space aside from the Border Regions. Risk

Transformers '84

Straxus was offered the fortress of Darkmount in exchange for raiding a fort in Iacon's Border Regions. When the Autobots, led by their greatest warrior Ultra Magnus, arrived to repel his forces, he ordered his troops to take as many prisoners as they could for his new smelting pool and retreat.
