• The LIC AAO exam has three phases – Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and Interview. Also, note after clearing all 3 phases, candidates will have to appear in the Recruitment Medical Test

As the official notification for LIC AAO Recruitment 2023 is released, Candidates can now check out the detailed vacancy distribution. A total of 300 vacancies have been released.

Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disability: 

Four per cent horizontal reservation has been provided to Persons with Benchmark Disabilities as per section 34 of the “Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016”. The persons with under mentioned categories of disabilities may apply: 

1. Locomotor Disability (LD): Person with a disability of one hand, one leg, both legs, One arm and One leg provided independent mobility is not affected, are eligible to apply. For AE (Civil) disability of only one arm, one leg is eligible. Leprosy cured person, Cerebral policy, dwarfism, muscular dystrophy and Acid attack victim as specified in the Schedule of RPwD Act, 2016 would be covered under Locomotor Disability. 
2. Visual Impairment (VI): Candidates with Visual impairment as defined under The Schedule of RPwD Act, 2016, are eligible to apply. 
3. Hearing Impairment (HI): Persons with “deaf” and “hard of hearing” disability as defined under The Schedule of RPwD Act, 2016, are eligible to apply. 
4. Intellectual Disability (ID): Persons having an intellectual disability, Specific learning disability, Mental illness as defined under The Schedule of RPwD Act, 2016, are eligible to apply. 
5. Multiple Disabilities (MD): Persons with more than one of the above-mentioned disabilities as defined under The Schedule of RPwD Act, 2016, are eligible to apply.

LIC AAO Application Fee 2023

LIC AAO Selection Process 2023

Candidates must go through the LIC AAO Selection Process before appearing for the examination. The Selection Process for LIC AAO Recruitment comprises three stages.

LIC AAO Exam Age Criteria

The reference date for the calculation of age is 1st January 2023.

• Minimum Age- 21 years
• Maximum Age- 30 years

Age Relaxation 

The upper age limit of the candidates is relaxable based on the category they belong to. The age relaxation allowed for each of these categories is given below in the table as per the previous year.

LIC AAO Educational Qualification

For AAO (Generalist), the candidates must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from any recognized Indian university/ institution.

Notes:- 

1. Candidates must make sure that the educational qualification that they possess shall be as per the prescribed educational qualifications mentioned in the advertisement and they fulfil the above eligibility criteria. The LIC of India will not consider any equivalent educational qualification for eligibility.
2. All of the educational qualifications referred to should be of the University / Institute / Board recognized by the Government India / approved by the Government Regulatory Bodies and the result should have been announced on or before 01.01.2023. The Proper documents from the Board / University for having announced the outcome on or before 01.01.2023 must be submitted at the time of the interview. The date of the passing of the test, which is considered to be qualified, shall be the date of the passing of the test appearing on the mark sheet/ Provisional certificate.

LIC AAO Exam Pattern

The LIC AAO exam pattern for the 2023 cycle is out. Candidates can refer to the LIC AAO Exam Pattern 2023 for their preparation.

Phase I - LIC AAO Exam Pattern for Prelims

The LIC AAO Exam Pattern consists of three sections, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and English. The questions asked are Multiple Choice Type. The LIC AAO exam is conducted online. Given below is the table of the sections, total questions in each section, marks allotted and the time duration:

1. The English Language section is qualifying in nature and the marks in the English Language are not counted for ranking, so the maximum marks are 70 instead of 100.
2. Each question of the Preliminary Examination carries 1 mark.
3. There is a sectional timing for each section. Candidates had to attempt each section within 20 minutes.

Phase-II: LIC AAO Exam Pattern for Main Examination

The Main examination consists of objective tests and descriptive tests. The Objective Test have a weightage of 300 marks and the Descriptive test have a weightage of 25 marks. There will be separate timing for every section for the Objective Test. The Tests included various sections like Reasoning Ability, GK & Current Affairs, Data Analysis & Interpretation, and Insurance and Financial Market Awareness. The Descriptive Test are conducted immediately after the completion of the objective test.

1. The descriptive test of English Language etc. will be of qualifying nature and the marks in the English Language will not be counted for ranking. 
2. LIC reserves the right to modify the structure of the examination which will be intimated through its website. 
3. Candidates must pass in each Section separately and should also obtain minimum marks in the aggregate to qualify for the online examinations (Preliminary and Main) and the interview. 
4. The minimum marks to be obtained in each Section and cut off marks for each section and in the aggregate shall be decided by LIC. Descriptive test of English Language etc. is of qualifying nature and marks in this test will not be counted for ranking. 
5. The decision of LIC in this regard shall be final and binding on the candidates. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

Phase- III: LIC AAO Interview

1. Maximum marks for the interview are 60 and the qualifying marks for UR/EWS/OBC are 30 and for SC/ST/PwBD are 27.
2. Candidates who do not obtain the minimum qualifying marks as decided by LIC shall be excluded from the further selection process.
3. The number of candidates to be called for an interview will be 3 times the number of vacancies to be filled. These candidates will be taken purely as per their ranking in their respective category.
4. In case of two or more candidates who have secured similar marks the merit list will be prepared as per the aggregate marks in the online main examination and interview and further according to their additional post-graduation qualification. The person with the higher educational qualification will be placed higher in the merit order. If the educational qualification is also the same, merit order will be decided on the basis of age, which means seniors in age will be placed higher in merit order. LIC will not be bound to take all the candidates with similar marks. It will only take candidates as per the number of vacancies that have been announced.
5. Outstation candidates who are called for an interview will be entitled to the benefits refund of Second Class Ordinary to and from Railway / Bus Fare by the shortest route from the place of residence to the location of the interview, which shall be limited to the fare of Railway Second Class Sleeper, along with the reservation charges.
6. No waiting list will be issued for candidates who do not qualify in the main list.

LIC AAO Salary 

The LIC AAO Salary is 53600/- INR per month. The pay scale with other admissible allowances as per rules of the LIC AAO is Rs. 53600-2645(14)-90630-2865(4)-102090. At the minimum scale, the total emoluments include house rent allowance, city compensatory allowance, etc. The admissible allowances depending up[on the classification of the city a LIC AAO from an “A” class city will get Rs.92870/- per month.
