Putin urges to prevent dramatic fluctuations of banks’ loan portfolio

MOSCOW, December 4. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin urged to keep an eye on dynamics and prevent drastic fluctuations and the decline of the loan portfolio of the Russian banking system.

"I request colleagues to certainly keep an eye on dynamics on the whole, prevent dramatic fluctuations and the decline of the cash and loan portfolio of the banking system and to provide for such its structure, meaning the timeframe, branches and sectors of the economy, where loans are being borrowed, so that it enabled solving strategic tasks and achieve national development goals," the president said at the 15th VTB Russia Calling! Investment Forum.

The structural change of the Russian economy is its main result during the last 2-3 years, the head of state said.

"The Russian economy has not merely recovered in full after the challenging period but also supports qualitative structural changes, which is critical and probably is the main result of our work in the economic sphere in general in the last 2-3 years," the Russian leader noted.

Russia is developing its technological, production and logistical potential and is strengthening eis with promising partners, he added.
