Changes in indicators

Changes have been made in the formation of indicators of deaths related to accidents and circulatory diseases

In indicators

  • Accidental deaths among population aged 20-34 per 100 000 persons of same age (ind. 3103)
  • Accidental deaths per 100 000 inhabitants (ind. 3111)
  • Mortality from diseases of the circulatory system for people aged 15 - 64, per 100 000 persons of same age (ind. 3695)
  • Mortality from diseases of the circulatory system, per 100 000 inhabitants (ind. 3694)

retrospectively to the entire time series, removing alcohol-related accidents from the accidental deaths indicators and alcohol-based diseases from the indicators for those who have died from circulatory diseases. The current definition corresponds to the cause of death classification by Statistics Finland which has 54 categories. See also alcohol-related deaths.
