David John Capel (6 February 1963 – 2 September 2020)[1] was an English cricketer. He played for Northamptonshire and England.
He was part of the Northamptonshire County Cricket Club both as a player as well as coach for 32 years.[2]
He became the assistant coach of the England women's cricket team in 2013, staying in the role until 2015.
In October 2016, he was appointed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) as the head coach of the Bangladesh women's cricket team.[3]
In 2018, he was diagnosed with brain cancer.[4] He died from the disease on 2 September 2020, aged 57.[5][6][7]
