Category:Single chart usages for Germany

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The {{Single chart}} identifier "Germany" creates a reference to musicline.de. Some time around 2015 the website split into a music sales site, with the German charts housed at offiziellecharts.de, and the chart identifier "Germany2" was made to create references to this URL. By 2018, the chart functionality at musicline.de ceased to be independently available, rendering the identifier "Germany" obsolete. Additionally, the chart identifier "West Germany" was created to make references to offiziellecharts.de for chart peaks prior to German reunification, the only difference being that the chart is labeled as "West Germany" rather than "Germany".

{{Single chart}} uses in this category should be changed to one of the following:

  • "West Germany" for chart peaks before October 3, 1990.
    • Add |songid= if not already present. The songid value is the numerical part of the URL for the song on offiziellecharts.de
    • Add |year= for chart peaks before 1977 to add instructions for the user to follow to verify the citation
  • "Germany2" for chart peaks on or after October 3, 1990.
    • Add |songid= if not already present. The songid value is the numerical part of the URL for the song on offiziellecharts.de
