The Hebrides (Gaelic: Innse Gall) is a group o islands aff the wast coast o Scotland, an in geological terms are makkit up o the auldest stane in the Breetish Isles. Thay can be sindert intae twa main groups:
- Inner Hebrides, includin Islay, Jura, Skye, Mull, Raasay, Staffa and the Smaw Isles
- Ooter Hebrides, includin Barra, Berneray, Harris, Lewis, North Uist, Sooth Uist, an St Kilda
Whiles the Hebrides aw thegither is referred tae as the Wastren Isles, but this term is for ordinar uised tae mean juist the Ooter Hebrides, that were kent as The Lang Island lang syne.
