Hello, I my name is Theresa B. I am a voracious reader; I devour fantasy and horror novels like candy. I am a rabid fan of manga and anime both of which I incorporated into my English classes during the course of my career. Mythology is another one of my passions; it is the basis of my Introduction to College English course.

At present I am a college English professor specializing in reading, writing preparation for college composition and literature. Through the medium of informative and persuasive essays my students learn to hone their ability to provide reasons, explanations and examples to illustrate their points. Once they master these basics, they move on to the higher learning skills: comparison, contrast, statistics, expert and personal opinion. Emphasis is placed on the organization of ideas through both outline and appropriate graphic organizers. I also focus on the literary analysis of fictional texts with particular attention to fables, parables, legends and myth as they relate to the development of social and cultural morality. I am a state board certified teacher of English and Theatre Arts. For 30 years prior to my college experience, I taught English and Theatre Arts. My expertise was Literature of every imaginable genre and level, Basic Skills Reading and Writing, Acting, Directing, Play Production, Speech, Public Speaking, Debate and Oral Interpretation. I also wrote curriculum for the each of these disciplines.
