As an engineering team lead I had my first across management discussion with a principal engineer for not sticking to what we had agreed.

It’s certainly easier managing downward to my direct reports. Managing across is as they’re effectively the same level of authority.

So I’ve finally joined Apple’s Developer Programme for individual apps after not doing mobile work in years. Let’s see how it goes. 

Initially I’m going to have a poke around Expo to see how it has matured since I last used it.

It raises a good question: How do people feel about streaming content to a webpage? 

It provides a quick first paint for core web vitals but obviously the end user seems some sort of “skeleton” UI for sections that take longer to load.

Congrats on the release of Sites @andy and team. It was great fun to tinker with it in early preview. Looking forward to seeing what people create with it.

My fiancée recently (past few months) took up cross stitching and it’s safe to say she’s hooked. 🧵 🪡 

She’s asked me to come up with a platform where she can plan multiple projects – it’ll have to create a schedule and calculate the minimum stitches required per day.

@andy one of the biggest complaints I get from recruiters in the UK is they find it hard to download my read.cv profile as PDF. 

Could you surface the profile options popover with the “print profile” button to unauthenticated users? Or am I missing a setting?
