- the flexible member is supported on the first support member and the second support member of the folding device, the first housing, and the second housing;
- foldable electronic devices are favored by more and more users because of their unique folding performance, which means they have a larger display area when unfolded and a smaller overall size when folded.
- Foldable electronic devices can be divided into inward folding and outward folding in terms of bending direction.
- inward folding means that the two ends of the flexible screen are closer to each other than the casing and are protected by the casing, so that the user cannot see the flexible screen in the folded state.
- Outward folding means that the two ends of the flexible screen are farther away from each other than the casing. Although the flexible screen cannot be protected by the casing, the user can still view the display in the folded state.
- the flexible screen can be divided into U-shaped and teardrop-shaped according to the folded cross-sectional shape.
- U-shaped U-Fold
- Water-Drop Fold refers to the fact that the cross-sectional shape of the flexible screen after folding resembles the shape of a water drop. In other words, the distance between the two halves of the water-drop-shaped flexible screen is small at the top and large at the bottom.
- a folding device installed in the electronic device is usually used.
- the folding device relies on its supporting member to move relative to the base, and cooperates with other components to move according to a preset movement trajectory, thereby constraining the flexible member into a U-shape or a tear-drop shape in the folded state.
- the current folding device has a complex structure, large overall size, and takes up a lot of space, which is not conducive to miniaturization development.
- the rotating parts in some folding devices can slide relative to the base, which will cause the dimensions of the folding device, as well as the housing components and electronic equipment using the folding device to change in the length direction, thus causing the folding device to collapse.
- the overall length will become larger and take up more space, thereby reducing the installation space for other components such as the motherboard or battery.
