The invention that is the subject of the present Invention Patent application is applicable in the technical field of disposable absorbent underwear for adults. More specifically, the present invention refers to a disposable absorbent garment for male incontinence in active adults that provides protection without bulging the genital area, preventing it from being noticed or protruding from the waist area of the pants and that allows it to be discarded in a way hygienic and discreet.

DESCRIPTION OF PRIOR ART

As populations continue to increase in longevity, it is more common to see people with urinary incontinence, which in the case of elderly people is a very recurrent problem, especially if they are bedridden or disabled. In particular, adult incontinence represents a transition from underwear to the use of some type of absorbent article to add to or replace underwear entirely.

For moderate to heavy incontinence, a variety of disposable diaper designs are needed, but there are also many adults who have minor urine leakage due to the inability to achieve complete closure of the urethral sphincter. In particular, adult men often have minor urinary leakage as a result of urinary or prostate surgical procedures, or radiological treatments.

In the latter case, it may be young men who are generally healthy and who need to lead a life as normal as possible, they move around the city, go to work, play sports, family gatherings, etc. where most of those activities involve relationship with other people and they need to be able to move freely, so this problem of incontinence and the use of devices or devices for incontinence, becomes a psychological problem in addition to the functional problem as such, since most of these adults maintain their situation in secrecy and they feel ashamed in case the absorbent device has been leaked and urine is transferred to the pants they are wearing, or when the device is very large and not only the front genital area, but also the back part; Another of the cumbersome situations for these people is that the device or diaper is very large and sticks out from the waist.

In cases where people maintain an active social or work life, it happens to them that they are very complicated to get rid of the protector they are using (be it diaper, pad, dressings or incontinence pads to compress) when they have to change it, because the devices Absorbents increase their volume with the urine they receive, they acquire an inconspicuous size and do not have the means to dispose of them in a discreet and hygienic manner.

Incontinence pads used heretofore have typically consisted of conventional diapers of substantially flat configuration, eg, rectangular in shape. Diapers are intended to absorb urine and feces, therefore they are not suitable for use by people who only require a urinary incontinence pad. Diapers must be of a specified width and absorbent material of a specified thickness to achieve satisfactory absorbency. Consequently, the diaper will occupy a correspondingly large space between the wearer's thighs, it can cause discomfort, such as rubbing, for example. Furthermore, there is a serious risk of urine seeping into the edges of the diaper when the diaper becomes saturated and squeezed between the wearer's thighs.

Large diapers are not acceptable for men who have incontinence but are not disabled. For mild to moderate incontinence needs, absorbent pads, pads, shields or inserts used in conjunction with undergarments have generally been shown to be acceptable. However, prior art products still leave much to be desired from the point of view of conceability, convenience, cost, discretion for disposal, etc.

Some of the protectors known in the prior art, which are smaller than a diaper, are for example of the type described in document W01991007155 by Runeman, B., where an incontinence protector for men is described in which the absorbent body is encased in a cover consisting of a liquid-permeable top layer and a liquid-impervious bottom layer. The incontinence protector of this publication is provided with elastic threads or the like, which are applied with pretension to the covering on both sides of the absorbent body and which converge in the direction of the narrowest end portion of the absorbent body. A disadvantage of the construction according to WO1991007155 is that undesirable pleats extending from the absorbent body in the lateral direction can lead to leakage of urine along the pleats of the article. In addition, it does not take charge of its subjection to the body, since it is assumed that it is placed between the genitals and an underwear, but it does not describe means of adhesion; Similarly, it also does not incorporate any measure to dispose of the protector in a discreet way.

Regarding protectors of the prior art that provide means of adjustment to the body, the invention described in US4909802A to Ahr, N. shows an integral disposable absorbent garment, such as a disposable diaper, that has an integral belt segment on each side of the garment. . The integral segments of the belt, in association with a receiving or fastening means, are intended to fasten or suspend the garment around the wearer's lower torso.The main disadvantage of this device is that the absorbent part is of a non-sized shape. suitable for a man, as it is symmetrical between the front and back, as well as having the disadvantage that its absorbent core is flat, without channels or projections that favor the position of the penis in the protector.

Another similar is seen in US7137972 by Holberg, which incorporates bands to attach the absorbent pad to a belt, describes a rectangular main panel that extends from the wearer's lower front trunk between the wearer's legs to immediately behind the genital area to cover the person's genital area. A pair of left and right straps extend rearwardly from the main panel which are interconnected by a transverse connecting strap on a lower rear trunk of the wearer. The disadvantage of this piece is that the absorbent area does not have a suitable shape for the man either and the straps that affirm from behind are completely crossed over the buttocks, which could lose stability due to the round volume of the buttocks running to the sides , in addition to burying into the skin.

Some manufacturers of absorbent articles have attempted to make three-dimensional articles that cradle or cover the male anatomy (ie, the wearer's penis and / or scrotum). However, these items are uncomfortable for the user (eg, an absorbent stretch wrap that covers the penis, a penis clip with an absorbent wrap that covers the penis). In addition, these items often do not provide full leakage protection and are expensive to manufacture due to the amount of cuts and folds that must be made. As it is possible to see, in the state of the art there is no protector for active men who suffer incontinence that, as a whole, can solve the problem of adaptation to the male anatomy with adjustable fastening means, that is of a discrete size. to be worn with normal underwear, such as a "brief" or "boxer" without protruding from all sides, that incorporates a solution to keep the penis in a suitable position to avoid leaks and also incorporates a solution to be able to be disposed of discreetly.

Thus, the present invention proposes to overcome the problems of the state of the art that are not solved according to the situations just described, providing a disposable absorbent garment for male incontinence in active adults, which provides protection without bulging the genital area, which does not it is noticeable or protruding and allows its disposal in a hygienic way with something that contains it and keeps it small.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention refers to a disposable garment for male incontinence, the main objective of which is to provide an absorbent garment capable of retaining fluid avoiding unwanted leaks and without bulging the genital area for active users.

Another main objective is to provide a disposable absorbent garment capable of adequately adapting and supporting the male anatomy while maintaining a discreet size that is concealed under a tight-fitting undergarment.

Still another objective of the invention is to provide a disposable absorbent garment that allows its disposal in a hygienic and discreet manner with a reduced size.

A further objective of the invention is to provide a disposable absorbent garment that prevents heat build-up or perspiration on contact with the skin. Thus, the present invention is about a disposable absorbent garment for male incontinence in active adults, which is generally made up of: a multilayer absorbent component that has a projection on its upper face; a unilaminar front and rear support; a reversible container element and lateral fastening bands.

Each of these elements will be detailed below. The multilayer absorbent component is longitudinally located between a unilaminar front support that conforms to the pelvic area and a unilaminar rear support that conforms to the buttock area.

The multilayer absorbent component is made up of a lower liquid-impermeable sheet, associated through its perimeter edge to a liquid-permeable upper sheet, between which it comprises an absorbent interior structure that has a superabsorbent core.

The lower liquid-impermeable sheet is also an outer sheet, which prevents the migration of the fluid absorbed by the absorbent inner structure, towards the outer area of the garment that is in contact with the user's clothing. This waterproof sheet is made of polymeric material, preferably polyethylene, polypropylene or polylactic acid (known as PLA) which is a derivative of natural and renewable raw materials.

The liquid-permeable topsheet remains in contact with the genitals and serves to receive urine and allow it to pass freely into the absorbent interior structure and keep the genitalia separate from the discharged and absorbed urine. This liquid-permeable topsheet is preferably flexible, thin, soft to the touch and non-irritating, which can be made of woven fabric or non-woven, porous multi-perforated fabric that allows fluids to pass but is not absorbent, made for example of polyester , nylon, polypropylene, cotton, or other polymer such as polylactic acid. Another suitable material can also be a hydrophobic film.

The absorbent inner structure provides for the collection and storage of urine and is formed of a material adapted to absorb, such as a cellulosic material, pulp, or a fibrous material; This can be mixed with superabsorbent polymeric material or comprise it in the form of a core inside. These materials are normally known as SAP, which are polymers capable of absorbing liquid in quantities many times greater than the natural weight of the same polymer. Thus, this multilayer absorbent component is shaped as a volume having an upper face, a lower face, a perimeter contour having a rounded trailing edge, and a substantially straight opposite front edge that is wider than the trailing edge. This shape is of adequate length and width to cover the genitals and confine them to the absorbent component.

The absorbent component has, on its upper face and adjacent to the perimeter contour, an upper projection with a "U" -shaped path that forms part of a simultaneous barrier means against leaks and containment of the position of the penis. It extends continuously from the ends of the front edge to the rounded rear edge, said front edge being devoid of projection; thus, the "U" shaped projection defines a cavity in the central area of the absorbent component whose depth is homogeneous in the transverse direction of the absorbent component.

This perimeter projection and the central cavity that it forms are means that simultaneously act as an anti-leak barrier and as a containment of the penis in a suitable position so that urine is immediately absorbed and does not migrate towards the sides of the garment and escape through the inguinal area. . As said, the projection has a “U” shape where its front end lacks a projection, while a cavity is formed between one side of the projection and the other in which the user's penis is positioned directed downwards, so that the edge that lacks protrusion, as it is on the upper part of the absorbent component, can be above or on the base of the penis without crushing it; The shaft of the penis, which is positioned with the tip directed downwards, remains confined within the cavity formed by the projection, and where these projections act as sealing edges that are attached to the lateral area adjacent to the penis, thus preventing it from leaks out of the cavity, as urine leaks past the ledge.

As mentioned above, the absorbent component is longitudinally located between a unilaminar front support that adapts to the pelvic area and a unilaminar rear support that adapts to the gluteal area, where both supports correspond to a single continuous piece, formed by a flexible sheet that has an intermediate portion that virtually separates it in the two supports, and where this intermediate portion forms part of the permeable layer of the absorbent component, so that this absorbent component is attached by the outer face of the intermediate portion.

Thus, it can be deduced that since the front support and the rear support are part of a single laminar piece with the permeable layer of the absorbent component, said supports are made of the same permeable material. The important thing is that the material of the supports is not elastic, but flexible, mainly because these supports are important parts that act to support and affirm the absorbent component.

The importance that the material of these pieces is not elastic is because in practice, once the absorbent component has been saturated, it acquires greater weight, which tends to lower the garment, and if the support and support pieces are elastic , the garment begins to give way and ends up being lowered, sliding over the user's skin; On the other hand, if the material is not elastic, but flexible, it does not yield to weight requirements, but allows it to adapt to the curves of the anatomy, which helps the garment not be noticed from the outside as a plane rigid and the user can feel more comfortable.

The unilaminar front support comprises a substantially trapezoidal shape with a minor side proximal to the absorbent component, specifically close to its substantially straight front side; a larger distal side corresponding to the upper edge of the garment on its front side; lateral sides that make up the lateral edges of the garment; an inner face that is in contact with the wearer's skin and an opposite outer face that faces outward and that normally remains in contact with the wearer's underwear.

On the other hand, the unilaminar posterior support comprises a substantially trapezoidal shape with a minor side proximal to the absorbent component, specifically, close to its rounded posterior side; a larger distal side corresponding to the upper edge of the garment on its rear side; lateral sides that make up the lateral edges of the garment; a face interior that is in contact with the skin of the user and an opposite exterior face that faces outside and that normally remains in contact with the user's underwear.

In the front support, the width of the distal long side is longer than the width of the distal long side of the back support, and this is due to the fact that the front area of the garment houses a greater proportion of the absorbent component and is the part where it has greater width, so a longer support allows better adaptation and greater contact of the support with the user's pelvic area.

On the other hand, the side sides of the front bracket are curved concave, while the side sides of the rear bracket are straight; This is to better adapt the curved sides of the front support to the curved anatomy of the groin area where the legs are born.

As mentioned at the beginning of this description, the garment that is the subject of this invention also has the objective of providing a disposable absorbent garment that allows it to be disposed of in a hygienic and discreet manner with a reduced size, therefore it comprises a reversible container element attached to it. superimposed and laterally centered on the outer face of the back support, which allows the garment to be self-packed for discreet disposal.

This reversible container element is a flexible sheet of the same manufacturing material as the unilamellar supports; it has an upper edge, a lower edge, lateral edges, an inner face, and an outer face. It is attached to the rear support through union lines that run along its lateral edges and the lower edge, leaving said upper edge free of connection, generating a pocket-shaped cavity between the inner face of the reversible element and the outer face of the rear support. Meanwhile, its upper edge coincides with the greater distal side of the aforementioned support. In an alternative embodiment, the lower edge and the lateral edges of the container element have a longitudinal fold that makes it possible to increase their size by expanding outwards.

This reversible container element allows the garment already worn to be placed inside it in a reduced way; Since of the entire garment only the absorbent component has volume and the rest of the pieces are unilamellar, so it can be folded or rolled on itself and then invert the walls of the container and leave the entire garment self-contained forming a small package.

This reversible container element has a similar shape to the rear support where it is attached, where its upper edge has a width that is greater than its width at the lower edge, giving the cavity a wider access opening that allows the reversal action to be carried out. more easily and at the same time, given that the width of the upper edge is at least the same as the width of the absorbent component, it allows the latter to be inserted into the container without having to fold it longitudinally, otherwise it is enough to roll or fold it in the The same sense that it curves naturally when adapting to the genital area.

The aforementioned lateral support bands are adjustable in length, adaptable to both sides of the user's abdomen, allowing the garment to be adjusted several times and facilitating the removal of the garment without the user having to remove pants and underwear to be able to take off the garment. protective, which is also favored by the unilaminar conformation of the back support that easily collapses to pass through the crotch forward and remove the garment.

The fastening bands are composed of a front band, an outer back band and an inner back band; each with a top edge, a bottom edge, and end edges. The extreme edges of the front band and of the outer back band comprise means for connecting adjustable to each other, where the extreme edges of the outer back band are longitudinally movable over the extreme edges of the front band, allowing the perimeter of the garment to be adjusted.

The adjustable joining means comprise applications of adhesive material arranged on the inner face of the outer rear band, in the area of its end edges which adhere against the outer face of the end edges of the front band. Wherein the adjustable attachment means comprise applications of adhesive material or contact engageable material.

The front band is arranged superimposed on the outer face of the front support, adjacent to its long distal side, has a length greater than the length of the long distal side, so that the band is completely attached to the support and with end portions that extend further. beyond the width. The inner rear band is of a different color and contrasted with respect to the color of the outer rear band, so that said inner rear band is visible through the longitudinal recess. This recess that exposes the inner rear band makes it much easier for the user to distinguish the upper edge of the reversible container element, as well as to facilitate its opening.

In an alternative embodiment, the garment lacks the inner back band, so that it is completely adhered to the outer face of the back support, while the reversible container element is directly arranged on the outer face of the back band, where it presents the recess on its entire upper edge. Said lateral fastening bands are flexible, but longitudinally stable, preferably being polymeric laminar bands.

Referring to FIG.
