A video data acquiring method by which, when a video receiver acquires video content data whose reproduction time is specified in advance, the acquisition of the video contents whose optimum reproduction points are specified depending on a communication band is realized. In the video data acquiring method by means of a video receiver (20) for receiving and reproducing video content data (60) whose reproduction time is specified in advance, a reproducible point of the video content data (60) newly received from a video distribution device (40) is determined to acquire the video content data (60) after the reproducible point from the video distribution device (40) on the basis of the communication band between the video distribution device (40) for distributing the video content data (60) and the video receiver (20).
