Definitions
- Coupling device of a loader on a tractor Coupling device of a loader on a tractor.
- the present invention relates to a device for coupling a loader on a tractor.
- a loader in particular a front loader, is a device intended to be mounted at the front of an agricultural tractor to perform all the handling tasks of various materials, such as, for example, straw, hay, manure or soil. .
- the tractor T is equipped with a BA adapter frame which forms the interface between the loader and the tractor and whose shape is adapted to each tractor model.
- This adapter frame BA supports two coupling heads 2, one on each side of the tractor.
- the front loader C comprises, in the usual manner, an articulated B stretcher, provided at its front end with a tool holder frame CPO on which is mounted a tool O, here a bucket.
- the stretcher B comprises two parallel arms. The rear end of each of these arms is provided with a hitch frame 1.
- the loader C also comprises a pair of lifting cylinders V (only one of which is visible in the front view corresponding to FIG. 1) which makes it possible to pivot the two arms of the stretcher B about hinge pins supported by the coupling frames 1.
- Each hitch frame 1 constitutes the fixed part of the loader, intended to be attached to the coupling head 2 placed opposite
- each coupling frame 1 of the loader C is hooked to the corresponding coupling head 2 of the tractor T by means of at least one pair of members complementary coupling, male and female.
- the operator advances the tractor T towards the loader C which rests on the ground held by crutches BE.
- the tractor continues its movement until the male or female members carried by the coupling frame 1 mate with the respective female or male members carried by the coupling head 2.
- Locking means are then engaged, usually automatically to lock this coupling.
- the operator then descends from the tractor to make the hydraulic circuit connections between the V cylinders of the charger C and the hydraulic power source carried by the tractor T and he removes the crutches BE.
- each coupling head of the tractor comprises two coupling cavities and a stop and each bracket of the loader comprises two bars intended to be received in said cavities and a latch urged by a spring.
- the bars engage in the cavities and are locked in this position by the latch which cooperates with said stop.
- each of the hitch frames of the loader is not necessarily rigorously facing the means of coupling of each of the coupling heads.
- the present invention therefore aims to provide a device for coupling a loader C on a tractor T may be pre-locked, so that the operator can connect the hydraulic connections and remove the crutches supporting the charger, without risk fall from it.
- the invention relates to a coupling device of a loader on a tractor, the hitching frame of the loader being provided with one of the two male or female coupling members of each of two pairs of coupling members called "front" and “rear” and a latch biased by a spring, the coupling head of an adapter frame carried by said tractor being provided with two coupling members complementary to those worn by said coupling frame and locking means, said latch cooperating with said locking means to occupy a so-called "locking" position, wherein said male members are fully coupled with said female members.
- said coupling head comprises pre-locking means with which said latch can cooperate to occupy a so-called "pre-locking" position, in which the male and female members of each pair are engaged incompletely, so that that the loader is hooked to the tractor but that there is a clearance between these male and female members allowing adjustment of the position of the loader relative to the tractor, the spring tending permanently to maintain said latch in the locking or pre-locking position .
- the male coupling members are constituted by a bar and the female coupling members by a U-shaped hand, the bar being arranged to the mouth of the U-shaped hand when the latch is in the pre-lock position and fully engaged in the bottom of the U-shaped hand when the latch is in the locked position;
- the male coupling members are integral with the coupling frame and the female coupling members are integral with the coupling head;
- the latch is pivotally mounted about an axis carried by the hitch frame
- the pivot axis of the latch is the bar of the rear pair of coupling members;
- said coupling head comprises a running ramp located in front of the U-shaped hand of the rear pair of coupling members, a pre-locking notch and a locking stop adapted to cooperate with said latch being provided on each side of said coupling;
- rolling ramp and the latch comprises two half latches engageable on each side of this ramp;
- the bar of the rear pair of coupling members has in its middle part, a mounted idler roller, capable of rolling on the running ramp of the coupling head;
- said latch can be moved from the locking position or the pre-locking position to a so-called "unlocking" position in which it does not cooperate with said locking or pre-locking means so that the loader can be unhooked from the tractor, its movement in this unlocking position is effected by means of a control lever acting against the return force of the spring of said latch;
- said hitch frame comprises a locking cavity which makes it possible to lock said control lever in the position in which said latch is in the unlocking position;
- the rear end of the coupling head comprises a release recess which makes it possible, during the uncoupling of the loader and the tractor, to release the control lever from the said locking cavity in order to release the said catch;
- said coupling head comprises a side roller guiding the lower edge of one of the flanges of the hitch frame of the loader, during the coupling and uncoupling operations of the loader and the tractor.
- FIG. 1 is a general diagram showing a loader ready to be mounted on an agricultural tractor, with the aid of the hooking device according to the invention
- FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the device according to the invention on which one of the flanges of the coupling frame has been removed,

- the head 2 comprises under the hand before 21, a lateral guide roller 27 mounted idler about an axis 270 perpendicular to the plane P.
- This guide roller 27 is slightly offset towards the inside of the tractor relative to the median plane P.
- the hitch frame 1 will now be described in more detail.
- the bar intended to mate with the front hand 21 is called the "front” bar and has the reference numeral 11
- the bar intended to mate with the rear hand 22 is referred to as the "rear” bar and has the reference numeral 12.
- Each bar 11 and 12 extend along respective axes X1-X'l and X2-X'2 perpendicular to the plane of the flanges 10 and 10 '.
- Each bar constitutes the male member of a pair of coupling members.
- a spacer 13 extends between the two flanges 10 and 10 ', it is disposed substantially above the bar 12.
- the hitch frame 2 further comprises a latch 14 pivotally mounted at one of its ends about an axis perpendicular to the plane of the two flanges 10 and 10 '.
- the axis about which pivots this latch 14 is the rear bar 12.
- the latch 14 consists of two half latches 140, 140 ', parallel, of generally triangular shape whose tip is oriented downwards.
- Each half-latch 140 has a front end 142, a front face 144 and a rear end 143 pierced with an orifice 141 allowing the passage of the axis X2-X'2 of the bar 12.

- the two half latches 140 and 140 ' are further joined at their front ends 142, 142' by fastening means, such as a bolt 163 and a nut 164.
- the structure of the bar 12 will now be detailed with reference to Figure 3. It has the general shape of a coil.
- Each conical portion 121, 121 ' is pierced with a central orifice allowing passage of the axis X2-X'2 and is welded to a flange 10, respectively 10'.
- the cylindrical axis X2-X'2 is supported on one of the flanges and fixed on the other, for example by a screw 123, so as to be removable.
- the latch 14 is permanently biased by a helical spring 15.
- a rod 16 is interposed between the front ends 142, 142 'of the two half latches 140 and 140'. It extends in the vertical median plane P. Its lower end is pierced with a hole allowing the passage of the bolt 163.
- the spring 15 is fixed at its lower end to a fixing pin 150 which extends between the two flanges 10 and 10 ', perpendicular to them and at its upper end 152 to an orifice 61 formed in the rod 16 .
- a lever 17 extends between the two flanges 10 and 10 'parallel to the plane P. It comprises two parallel arms, namely an outer arm 174' longer and a shorter inner arm 174.
- This lever 17 is articulated about an axis of rotation 171 perpendicular to the plane P and mounted at its two ends between the two flanges 10 and 10 '.

- This orifice is of substantially triangular shape with rounded corners and its dimensions are slightly greater than that of the ends of the axis 171. Only the receiving orifice 102 'formed in the flange 10' is visible in FIGS. 3, 7 and 8 .
- the axis of rotation 171 is mounted between the two flanges 10 and 10 'so that its ends rest on the edges of said receiving holes and they can move with a slight clearance inside these orifices, as one can see it in Figures 8C and 8D for example.
- a rod 172 is fixed between the front ends of the two arms 174 and 174 ', perpendicular to the plane P. It passes through the oblong hole 162 of the rod 16 within which it can move. This oblong hole 162 allows a slight clearance between the lever 17 and the rod 16.
- a second coil spring 18 is disposed parallel to the first spring 15. Its lower end is fixed to the pin 150 and its upper end to the rod 172. This spring 18 tends to bring the front end of the lever 17 permanently downwards, in the position illustrated in FIG. 2.
- a rod 175 forming a stop for the lever 17 is fixed between the two flanges 10 and 10 ', perpendicular to them, under the part of the lever 17 which extends between its front end and the axis 171.
- the outer arm 174 'of the lever 17 is provided at its rear end with a handle 170 which protrudes outwardly of the tractor, perpendicular to the plane P, out of the outer flange 10'.
- the outer arm 174 'of the lever 17 has at its rear end, on its opposite side to that where is fixed the handle 170, a lug 173.
- This lug is capable of cooperating with the recess 260 of the head of coupling 2 as will be described later.
- the outer flange 10 ' has along its rear edge, in its upper part, a recess 101' which constitutes an abutment to the upward movement of the lever 17 and in its middle part, a cavity 100 '.
- a possible embodiment of the device has just been described.
- FIGS. 7A to 7F The coupling phase of the coupling frame 1 on the coupling head 2 is described with reference to FIGS. 7A to 7F.
- the loader and the tractor are spaced from each other.
- the latch 14 is in the rest position, that is to say, held down by the action of the return spring 15.
- the handle 170 abuts against the top of the recess 101 'and the front portion of the lever 17 against the rod 175.
- the idler roll 122 of the bar 12 begins to roll along the running ramp 23, the conical portions 121 and 21 'of the coil-shaped bar facilitating the alignment of the coupling frame 1 in the median plane P of the head coupling 2.
- FIG. 7C it can be seen that as the tractor continues to move to the left, the ends of the two half latches 140 and 140 'also move along the running ramp 23, (the half latch 140 'does not appear in the front views of Figure 7).
- the two half latches 140 and 140 ' arrive opposite notches 24 and 24', formed on either side of the rolling ramp 23.
- the latch 14 Under the action of the spring 15, the latch 14 is pressed down, each half-latch engaging in the notches 24, 24 '.
- the latch 14 is in a position called "pre-lock".
- the bars 11 and 12 are introduced at the entrance of the U-shaped hands 21, respectively 22.
- the hitch frame 1 of the loader is secured to the coupling head 2 of the tractor adaptation frame.
- the latch 14 In this position, the latch 14 has returned to its original position oriented at the maximum downward.
- the front faces 144, 144 'of the latch 14 then come into contact with the stops 25, respectively 25'.
- Figure 8A corresponds to Figure 7F.
- the operator can then begin to reverse the loader and the coupling head 2 to the right (arrow G).
- the rim of the recess 260 acts on the pin 173 and drives it slightly backwards, which is possible because the axis of rotation 171 of the lever 17 is mounted with a certain clearance in the recesses 102 . This has the effect, on the other side of the lever, to release the handle 170 out of the cavity 100 '.
