Abstract

The invention relate to a method for determining the actual rotation speed (16) of brushless DC motors (1) with no sensor, comprising a commutation recognition (10), by means of which the correct commutation timepoint for generation of a rotating field in the required rotational direction is generated from the induced voltage in a non-current phase (24). By measuring the flanks of a commutation impulse (11) using a time switch (15), the time duration between two commutation impulses (11) is determined, by an actual rotation speed determiner (15).
