(Application filed Nov. 13, 1900,)
= INVENTOR 5g Illorney W! nmss s UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN J. GEORGES, OF \VASHINGTUN, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, ASSIGHOR OF ONE-HALF TO \VILLIAM \V. GEORGES, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A BUNION OR CORN SHIELD.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,764, dated December 18, 1900.
Application filed November 13, 1900. Serial No. 36,416. Term of patent 14 years.
To (all whom it may (#UllfPT'IL:
Be it known that I, JOHN J. GEORGES, a citien of the United States, residing at Washington, in the District of Columbia, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Bunion or Corn Shields, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof, in which- Figure l is a front elevation of my bnnion or corn shield, and Fig. 2 is a horizontal section of the same.
As shown in said drawings, my bunion or corn shield consists of an inner covering 1, provided with an aperture 2 therein, and an outer covering 3, secured to said inner oovering, the said aperture being filled with a sheet or diaphragm 4. Between the two coverings is placed a padding 5.
It will he observed from my drawings that the opening or aperture 2 and its sheet or diaphragm 4 are situated out of the center of the pad or over on one side of the same, which leaves a somewhat thin portion on one side of the said diaphragm and a much larger and heavier padded portion on the opposite side thereof.
The essential or leading feature of my design is a padded shield having a covered aperture near one side of the shield, with the coverings on one side of said covered aperture much larger and thicker than on the opposits side.
Having described my invention, what I olai m as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a bunion or corn shield, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature, in the presence of two witnesses, this 26th day of October, 1900.
JOHN J. GEORGES.
