INVENTOR v 1'! OSEPH A. GAGNBN.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE;
JOSEPH ANTOINE GAGNON, OF CHAMBLY CANTON.
QUEBEC, CANADA,
ASSIGNOR TO FRANCOIS X. E. PANNETON, OF MONTREAL, (JANA DA BOILER-STAND.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Dec. 18, 1906.
. Application filed November 13, 1905- Serial No. 286.976-
I To all whom (It I'll/0!] concern:
- cumference accordin tofore been made in varying sizes to dimensions of the different tanks.
Be it known that I, J osErn ANTOINE GAG- NON, of the village'of Chambly Canton, in the Province of Quebec and Dominion of Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Boiler-Stands, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
My invention relates to stands or support- 1 ing-brackets for boilers and like articles, and is particularly adapted as a support for vert1- ca boilers used in connection with hot-water furnaces! As these reservoirs vary in cirto their different capacities, the supportmg-brackets have heresuit the With this object in view I provide a bracket consistingof a plurality of legs, preferably three in number, having iLCljllStlIlg-SlOtS formed at or near the center and a col-re sponding number of connecting-clamps to bolt the legs into position. Rctamingshoulders are formed at each end of lhe legs,
and the curvature of each end is changed so that the shoulders at one end will embrace a.
circle of greater circumference than at the I other end.
In the drawings, Figure l'is an elevation of the bracket with the smallr t end uppermost and adjusted to its closed position. Fig.2 is a viewsimilar to Fig. 1, showing the bracket opened out by means of the ad justformed on each provided with bolt-holes E, which are adapted to contain the boltsF. The legs A are cast with a number of apertures G to reduce the weight ofthe casting.
To construct the brackets from the differout parts it is only legs together at one hundred and twenty degrees apart by means of the clamps E and the bolts F. The bolts pass through the slots 1), by means of which the bracket may be adj usted laterally within the limits of the slots.
It will thus be seen that the bracket may be used for two sizes of boilers by simply reversing the ends and may be further adjusted for other sizes by means of the slots and clamps.
It will be obvious that this device may also be used for supporting various other articles than vertical boilers.
Having thus described my invention so that the same maybe readily understood by those skilled in the art to which it appertains, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1.. Areversible boiler-stand comprising a plurality of legs formed with a retainin 4 shoulder on each end, transverse slots 1n.
their central portions, and corrugations crossing said slots at right angles, in combination with a plurality of ad usting-clamps having corru ated faces and bolts adapted to slide in saids iots to lock the legs in position.
2. In a supporting-bracket for boilers and the like, the. combination with a pluralit of reversible legs having a retaining-shoui der end, transverse slots in their central portions, and corrugations crossing said slots at right angles, of a plurality of adjusting clamps having corrugated faces adapted to coact with the corru ations on said legs, and bolts adapted to 100- said legs and clamps in position.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand in the presence of two witnesses.
