Be it known that I, EDGAR KROM, a citizen `of the United States, anda resident of the city of New York, borough of Manhattan, in theV county and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Cabinet, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

My invention relates to cabinets, and more especially to those adapted for the storing of such cylindrical objects as phonograph or graphophone records. narily being of wax are fragile and must be preserved with considerable care, and when many are to be provided for it becomes a matter of diliiculty to do this and at the same time have them accessible for ready selection. To provide a cabinet which will obviate these diiiculties is the object of my invention.

Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.

Figure 1 is a perspective view of one embodiment of my invention, showing a phonograph supported thereon. Fig. 2 is a horizontal section through the casing, and Fig. 3 is an enlarged vertical sectional detail showing the pivotal support of one of the doors.

My improved cabinet comprises a casing C, having opposite side walls 10 10, a bottom 11, and a top 12. This casing is preferably of such height as to furnish a convenient support for the phonograph or like instrument P. The opposite openings of the casing between the sidewalls are closed by doors 13, preferably mounted to swing about the center of said openings upon pins or projections ,14, here shown as extending from the adjacent edges of the casing into cylindrical recesses 15in the door. Upon the outside of each door near its center may be mounted a handle 16 for convenience in moving it. v Upon the inner side of each door is provided a plurality of pins or projections 17, here shown as arranged symmetrically in vertical and horizontal series.

At the upper end of each of the pins 17 is preferably provided a surface 18, upon which, if records are to be stored in the cabinet, may be printed vor otherwise incribed the name ofthe particular record.

In use my improved cabinet will preferably be placed at a sufcient distance from the walls of the room or the like to permit the swinging of either door upon its central pivots.

When the doors are thus opened, all the pins and supported records may be seen, and any of the latter desired may be removed without disturbing the others.

It will be seen that this cabinet provides for the disposal of a great number of records in a comparatively small space, renders' each freely accessible, and does away with any danger of injuring the one removed or those about it. At the `same time it is comparatively inexpensive to construct, may be made as a highly ornamental article of furniture, and furnishes a convenient support for the instrument in connection with which the record is to be used.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by -Letters Patent-d 1. A cabinet comprising a casing having opposite doors, and upwardly-inclined pins carried by each door, all of said pins being accessible through either door.

2. A cabinet comprising a casing provided with opposite openings, a door pivoted to swing about the center of each opening and giving access to the opposite side of the companion door, and upwardly-inclined projections mounted upon the inside of both doors.
