IMPROVEMENT IN POINTS DRIVE-WELLS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 218,9 1 0, dated August 26, 1879; application filed April 3, 1879.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALPHONSO WILsoN, of the city of New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Points for Drive- Wells, which improvement is fully set forth in the following specification and accompanying drawing, in which the figure is a longitudinal section of my improved point for drive wells.
A is the castiron point. B is the perforated section of the tube.
My invention consists in casting the point onto the tube; and the object of my invention is to obtain strength and cheapness.
To make my improved point for drive-wells I upset the end of the tube, so as to form a rim or flange, O. The tube is then laid in the mold, so the cast metal will flow all around more pieces of metal together by placing the cold piece or pieces in the mold and causing the molten metal to flow around them is not new, and that I do not claim.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
An iron point for drive-wells, cast on the tube, substantially as set forth.
