To collapse the box, the cover I2 is first removed. The partition and member I3 are then removed. The front wall I4 is swung back on its hinge into the base. The partition may be placed within the base under the front wall I4. The member I3 may then be folded and placed in the base, as shown in Figs. '7 and 8.
In folding up member I3, the wall portions 35 are pushed inwardly into face to face contact, between the walls 34. `The cover I2 may vthereafter be placed over the base to close the same. The height of the base I I is such asto fit within the cover I2.
In collapsed position the box may be conveniently stored and shipped. It may be set up quickly and easily by merely removing the cover, placing first the member I3 in position, swinging the front wall I4 upwardly, placing the partition I6 within the box in upright position, then placing the cover on the upper edges of members I3 and I6 and front wall I4.
It will be noted that articles placed within the compartments on both sides of the partitions can be seen through the window I5.
In Figs. 9 and 10 there is shown a box Illa embodying the invention, and illustrating a modified form thereof. The box Illa which may be proportioned to receive a blanket or other articles, is similar to the box I0, excepting that the partition is omitted, and the rear wall of upstanding member 5D is not split in half. In the box shown in Figs. 9 and l0 the member 50 may likewise be folded or collapsed and placed into the base, and the front hinged wall swung back into the base, so that the cover may be placed over the base.
It will thus be seen that there is provided a device in which the several objects of this invention are achieved, and which is well adapted to meet the conditions of practical use.
As various possible embodiments might be made of the above invention, and as various changes might be made in the embodiments above set forth, it is to be understood that all matter herein set forth or shown in the accompanying drawings is to be interpreted as illustrative and not in a limiting sense.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
