' I My invention relates to a drinking and tapping attachment for beer cans, and the objects of my invention are:

First, to provide an attachment to be used 5 in connection with the conventional beer cans which provides a combination means for tapping the can for permitting the flow of the beer and also providing an extended rim: to facilitate drinking from-the can;

Second, to provide an attachment of this class which may be readily and quickly attached to and detached from the can;

Third, to provide an attachment of this class which may be sterilized and used over and over again on difierent cans;

Fourth, to provide an-attachment of this class which provides a sufliciently large opening in the can so that the beer will flow readily therefrom;

Fifth, to provide an attachment ofthis class with a handle in connection therewith to facilitate the handling of the can while drinkin therefrom;

Sixth, to provide an attachment of. this class with clip means forclamping it tightly on the can and also provided with extended portions for guiding the attachment while puncturing the can;

Seventh, to provide an attachment of this class with a gasket around the pouring and puncturing means to prevent leakage between the can and the attachment when drinking;

Eighth, to provide an attachment of this class that is very simple and economical of construc- 5 tion, applicable to thevariousconventional types of beer cans now in use, efiicient in its action, and which'will not readily deteriorate or get out of order. With these and other objects in view as will 40 appear hereinafter, my invention consists of certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts and portions as will be hereinafter described in detail and particularly set forth in the appended claims, reference being had to the accompanying drawing and to the characters of reference thereon which form a part of this application in which:

Though I have shown and described a particular construction, combination, and arrangement of parts and portions, I do not wish to be limited to this particular construction, combination, and

arrangement, but desire to include in the scope of my invention the construction, combination and arrangement substantially as set forth inthe appended claims.

Having thus described my'invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

1. In a drinking and tapping attachment for beer cans, a rim member forming an upwardly extended -lip engaging drinking member constructed and arranged to fit inside the ledge of a conventional beer can provided with a tapping attachment near one side thereof and extending downwardly from the bottom thereof, a plurality of clip members extending from said rim member downwardly over the ledge of the beer can for positioning and holding said rim in position thereon, and a handle member secured to said rim member and extendingdownwardly along one side past the bottom of the can ahd in engagement with the bottom thereof.

2. In a drinking and tapping attachment for beer cans, a rim member forming an upwardly extended lip engaging drinking-member constructed and arranged to fit inside the ledge of a conventional beer can provided with a tapping attachment near one side thereof and extending downwardly from the bottom thereof, a pluraliiy of clip members extending from said rim member downwardly over the ledge of the beer can for positioning and holding said rim in position thereon, a handle member secured to said rim member and extending downwardly along one side past the bottom of the can and in engagement with the bottom thereof, and a base member connected to the lower end of said handle and extending against the bottom of said can.

In a device of the class described, a drinking rim adapted to fit inside the ledge of the conventional beer can, clip means secured to said drinking rim and extending over the ledge of the beer can for securing it in position, a bottom portion for said rim extending over a portion only of said beer can top, and a tapping member secured to said bottom portion and extending downwardly therefrom about an opening in said bottom portion.

4. In a device of the class described, a drinking rim adapted to fit inside the ledge of the conventional beer can, clip means secured to said drinking rim and extending over the ledge of the beer can for securing it in position, a bottom portion for said rim extending over a portion only of said beer can top, a tapping member secured to said bottom portion and extending downwardly therefrom about an opening in said bottom portion, and a handle member. secured to said rim and extending downwardly and outwardly from the side of said can past the lower side of the can.

In a device of the class described, a drinking ing rim adapted to fit inside the ledge of the conventional beer can, clip means secured to said drinking rim and extending over the ledge of the beer can for securing it in position, a bottom portion for said rim extending over a portion only of said beer can top, a tapping member secured to said bottom portion and extending downwardly therefrom about an opening in said bottom portion, a handle member secured to said rim and extending downwardly and outwardly from the side of said can past the lower side of the can, and means for securing said handle member over the ledge on the lower side of said can.
