Figure l is a perspective view of the bed stead. F 2 is a vertical section through the axis of the securing bolt.
The bedstead here considered is designed tor the use of soldiers, being economical and simple in construction.
It consists of the following parts. Two head posts A A, two foot posts B B, two bolts C C, slats D D and head-board H.
The posts are made ot thin bar iron, running up to an angle at a, and welded together along the straight portion ZJ, an enlargement c being formed for the passage of the bolt. The head posts have a branch f, at top for the reception of the head board.
The bolts C have lever nuts n, for permitting the application of suiiicient power to thoroughly tighten the bedstead.
The outer slats D D have notches m cut in their outer edges7 for the reception of the straight portion of the post. These notches are lined with metal y? to prevent wear.
The inner edges of slats D are notched as shown at g or in any way substantially the same that will afford shoulders to receive projections on the middle slat or slats, and thus prevent the longitudinal movement of said slat or slats.
This bedstead is put together by passing bolts C through the eyes in the posts, placing the slats in position and then tightening the nuts against the posts. The head board is then slipped in the place prepared for its reception. This forms a bedstead perfectly stift in every direction.
I claim- The combination of slats, posts and screw bolts substantially as, and for the purposes set forth.
