This invention relates to a standard for the game Robogo.
The object of the game Robogo is to provide an element of chance mixed with an opportunity to develop skill to provide entertainment both sional player.
indoors and outdoors. The objects of the standard are to provide an upright pin that may be utilized both indoors and outdoors and to provide a tiltable pin of varying degrees of sensitivity whereby the difiiculty of ringing the pin is increased necessitating greater skill as the users acquire the same. Also providing a sufiicicnt range of diificulty to meet the requirements of the amateur, the aged, the infant, and the profes- The standard is further made so that the pins can be readily removed and replaced one With the other to permit of easy transportation and storage and the standard is made in such a manner as to be relatively cheap in cost of manufacture and assembly.
Referring the drawing:
Figure l is a view showing the playing of the game and the effect in dotted lines of striking the top of the pin.
Figure 2 is a view in elevation partly in section of a standard embodying the principles of my invention.
Figure 3 is a plan view of Figure 2.
Figure 4 is a view of a medium size pin in elevation.
Figure 5 is a view of the small size pin in elevation.
As described in the application Serial Number 684,044 of which this is a divisional application, the first element of the game Robogo is a standard or duck. This standard is composed of the following parts:
A metallic pot I having punched depressions 2 in the base thereof to more securely hold and prevent rotation of cement 3 which partially fills the interior of the pot I and surrounds the central wood block 4 imbedded in the cement 3. A cover 5 with an opening 6 centrally thereof and tabs 1 is secured by crimping or in any other well known manner over pot I. Wood block 4 has a threaded hole 8 in alinement with opening 6. The pin 9 has a threaded end [B to screw into hole 8. The shoulder H on pin 9 bears against lid 5 to hold it more firmly onto wood block 4 and thereby forming a completely secured rigid unit and preventing the dislodgment of the cement ballast during the playing of the game when the pot I becomes tilted. Three sizes of pins 9, 9, 9", are provided and are interchangeable whereby the standard can be utilized for the playing of the game Robogo by individuals of diiferent ages and skill, the largest pin requiring greater skill than the other two pins. The larger the pin the more sensitive does the standard become and the more diflicult is the throwing of the ring due to the increase in height as well as the greater sensitivity. The weighted and circular sided pot causes it to rise of its own accord when normally struck, but the tilting tends to release the ring.
As shown in the parent application, Serial Number 684,044, the rings are of a particular structure having three slightly curved sides forming a modified triange. The cross section is also in the nature of a modified triange whereby a greater rigidity is secured while at the same time requiring greater skill for ringing the pin 9 than would be required by a circular ring. The rings are colored, preferably red, black and green, and are thrown as described in sequence in the previous application.
What I claim is:
1. A standard for a game, said standard comprising a pin and a base, said base having a rounded bottom with a flat central portion, said base hollow and partially filled by cement, a block centrally of said base and surrounded by said cement, said block threaded to receive the pin indentations in said base to prevent movement of said cement with respect to said base.
2. A standard for a game, said standard having a base, said base having rounded sides and a flat bottom, said base partially filled by cement, a block surrounded by said cement within said base, a cover, a threaded hole in said block, an opening in said cover above said hole, a pin having one end threaded and a shoulder above said threaded portion, said pin threadable into said block, said shoulder bearing against said cover whereby said pin, cover, block and. base are united and supported.
3. A standard for a game, said standard having a base, said base having rounded sides and a flat bottom, said base partially filled by cement, a block surrounded by said cement within said base, a cover, a threaded hole in said block, an opening in said cover above said hole, a pin having one end threaded and a shoulder above said threaded portion, said pin threadable into said block, said shoulder bearing against said cover whereby said pin, cover, block and base are united and supported.
4. A standard for a. game, said standard having a weighted tiltable base, a cover for said base, an opening in said cover, a pin having a shoulder thereon to bear against said cover and a threaded end adjacent said shoulder, said end of said pin threaded into said base through said cover, said shoulder of said pin securing said cover to said base centrally thereof.
