Description

    CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
  • Recreational Tote has been issued Provisional Application No. 60/484,914, dated Jul. 07, 2003, to Paul L. Moree. This recreational Tote is perfect for the beach, shore, boat, picnic, or any kind of outing. It is a combination cooler, bait, tackle, & lock box, in an all in one unit. There is no need to carry a separate cooler for beverages, or a separate container for bait, or your catch; or a separate tackle box, you no longer leave your valuables, fishing & driver licenses at home or locked in the trunk of your vehicle, because it has a locking device to keep every thing safe & with you. It is lightweight & attractive, a useable product that is easily taken with you on any kind of outing. A kit I have also devised can easily convert any size cooler from the smallest to the largest into a “Recreational Tote”
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • As a boy I grew up in a commercial fishing village, and as far back as I can remember I have been a fisherman. As a tot, I would get my gear together, which consisted of a box, I used to put my hooks, floats, strings, leaders, weight, etc. in, a large container, like a bucket to carry my catch home in, and of course I had to have another box or bag for my lunch, & drink. Not to even mention my fishing poles. By the time I would leave the house I would be so loaded down, it was a job getting to my favorite fishing spot. It was worth every second of it.
  • When I got older I became a commercial fisherman, so most of my gear was kept on my boat. However, when time permitted I was still an avid sports fisherman, which meant (you guessed it) assembling all my gear, getting my food & drinks in a cooler, a bucket for my catch, a tackle box for my fishing supplies, another bucket for bait, as I didn't use solider & fiddler crab's any longer. All my fishing poles, because everyone knows you need more than one. Putting my wallet & keys in an oil skinned bag to protect them from getting wet, with a cork on it in case I dropped them overboard. Loading all this in my car, heading for my favorite fishing hole. After getting there, taking all this out of my car & making a couple of trips down to my fishing spot, I was finally ready to fish.
  • Every time I would think “There has got to be an easier way to do this”, it was taking a lot of joy out of fishing, having to lug all this stuff back & forth. That's how I came up with “The Recreational Tote”, an all in one unit, that you could carry your lunch & drinks in, that has a built in tackle box, that has a locked compartment to put my wallet, jewelry, keys, etc, in, By carrying a plastic bag in one of the compartments I now could place my catch in the food & drink compartment to keep them iced & fresh. It's a simple & uncomplicated invention, but it sure is a time, & temper saver. It's easy to carry, maintain & clean. I keep one in my car at all times, so if the notion hits me to go fishing, I'm ready to go in no time at all, I just stop & ice up, get some food & drinks, & I'm ready to go. It's not only handy for fishing & outings, but can be used for a variety of needs. It's nice looking, not at all bulky, & you can even sit on it while you fish, picnic, etc. Another feature of this “Recreational Tote” is I've devised a kit that can be added to any cooler, from the largest to the smallest to be converted easily into a “Recreational Tote”.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The “Recreational Tote” is an all in one unit; that contains, a cooler, tackle, bait, & lock box. It provides a cooler for beverages, foods & bait, also a place for your catch. It has the convenience of a tackle box built in, plus a locking compartment to store important papers, like driver & fishing license, your car keys, or jewelry. It has a variety of compartments that will adapt to varied needs. It is ruggedly constructed, easy to maintain & clean, & its portability makes it a good choice to use for any outing.
  • Also any cooler from the smallest to the largest can easily be converted to an all-in-one “Recreational Tote” with a kit I have devised, which will fit the inside or outside of the cooler of your choice.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • I am submitting 8 rough drawings on my ideas of my invention “Recreational Tote”, they are not to scale, they are to show the concepts of the variety of ways this all-in-one unit can be built.

  • Page eight, bottom view, shows a “Recreational Tote” front view with cooler on top, locked drawer on bottom, and also a view of the compartments in the locked drawer.
  • Also I am enclosing some pictures of some units I made up, they are not professionally made, but you can get a rough idea of the “Recreational Tote” & it's many functions.
