Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 162,131, dated April 13, 1875; application filed March 11, 1875.

Be it known that I, ISAAC S. IVILLIAMS, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented an Improved Portable Commode, of which the following is a specification The object of my invention is to make a commode which can be readily folded into a small compass, and this object I attain in the manner which I will now proceed to describe, reference being had to theaccompanyingdrawing, in which- Figure l is a perspective view of the commode as it appears when adjusted for use; Fig. 2, a view ot' the folded supporting-trame, and Fig. 3 a perspective View of the folded top or' the commode.

The supporting-trame consists of three legs, A, to each ot' which is secured an arm, B, and the three arms are hinged together at :c .'17, in the manner best observed in Fig. 2. rlhe annular top of the Commode is made in two parts. hinged together as shown in Fig. 3, and has on the under side three holes for receiving the upper ends of the three legs A, so that when the latter have been adjusted to their places, the frame and top will form the commode shown in Fig. 1, the arms B ofthe trarne, serving to support the vessel.

I claim as my invention- The combination of the supporting-frame, consisting of the legs A and arms B, hinged together as described, With the top I), made in two parts, hinged together, as specified.
