Description

arch 11 I HASELTON INCANDESCENT ELECTRIC LAMP GLOBE Filed Jan. 28. 1922 Ze e H Qse Zion INVENTOR ATTORNEY $Q3a/na mm WITNESSM I specification.
Patented Mar. 1 l, 192%.
. x t LEE HASELTON, OF EUGENE, OREGON.
INOANDESGENT-ELECTRIC-LAMP GLOBE.
Appfication'filed January 28, 1922. Serial No. 532,355.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LEE HASELTON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Eugene, in the county of Lane and State 5 of Oregon, have invented new and useful Improvements in Incandescent-Electric- Lamp Globes, of which the following is a The object of my said invention is the provision of an incandescent electric lamp globe that is simple and inexpensive in construction and yet is possessed of the capacity of magnifying the li ht emanating from the globe to a considera le extent.
To the attainment of the foregoing, the invention consists in the improvement as hereinafter described and definitely claimed.
In the accompanying drawings, forming part of thisspecificationfigure 1 is a view "showing my novel globe in diametrical section as properly arranged relativelyto a; conventional incandescent electric lamp.
Figure 2 is per se.
Similar numerals corresponding parts drawings.
The incandescent ii lamp illustrated and designated by 1 is of the ordinary well own construction, thou h it may be of any construction compatib e with its use to advantage in my novel globe.
My novel lobe is of the inverted type and is formed of glass with its closed and its upper end prpvided by preference with a marginal flan e 2, the said flange being designed-for t e engagement of the means 3 through the medium of which 40 the globeis' suspended in working position.
Manifestly the said suspending means 3 may be of the construction illustrated or of in both views o the any other construction consonant with the a purpose of my invention.
a side elevation of the globe of reference desi ate lower end.
The chief feature of my novel globe resides-in the provision in the lower portion thereof of a magnifying solid body 4 of clear or transparent glass, the said body 4 having a" convex lower orouter surface 5 and aplane upper or inner surface 6. The globe is frosted from the flanged ortion 2 to the bulls eye formed by the said ody 4.
It will be apparent from the foregoing that the solid body 4 of the globe Wlll greatly increase the llluminating capacity of the lampalso, that when desired the solid body or bulPs eye 4 may be made of any color.
I have entered into a detailed description of the construction and relative arrangement of the parts embraced in the present and preferred embodiment of my invention in order to impart a full, clear and exact understanding of the said embodiment. I do not desire, however, to be understood as confining myself to the said speclfic construction and relative arrangement of parts in-. asmuch as in the future practice of. the 1nvention various changes and modifications may be made such as fall w1th1n the scope of my invention as defined in my appended clalm.
Havin claim an ent, is
.As a new article of manufacture,
described my invention, what I desire to secure by Letters Patre a globe for incandescent electric lamps, formed in one piece and closed at one end and having at said end a solid body or bulls eye of clear glass with a convex exterior surface and 'a plane, interior surface and also haying frosting between the bulls eye and said open end. 7
In testimony whereof I afix my signature.
LEE H'AsEL'ron.
