CAPSULEJE 0X CONTAINER.
Application filed February 10, 1922.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that Jnrr G. K. BURNETT, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Paducah, in the county of Cottle and State of Texas, has invented new and useful Improvements in Capsule-Box Containers, of which the following is a specification.
The object of the invention is to provide a simple and convenient cabinet for support by the shelf of a prescription counter as a means of containing capsule bones in convenient position for access by the pharmacists and of keeping the different sizes of capsules in a classified relation to facilitate selection in the use thereof; and with these I objects in view the invention consists in a construction and combination of parts of which a preferred embodiment is shown in the accompanying drawings, wherein Figure 1 is a perspective view of a capsule cabinet embodying the invention applied in the operative position to a prescription shelf or counter.
Figure 2 is a front elevation of the same.
Figure 8 is an inverted plan view thereof.
Figure 4; is a detail sectional view taken through one of the compartments of the cabinet.
Figure 5 is a detail in perspective of one of the capsule boxes or receptacles.
The device consists of a sheet metal recep tacle having a plurality of separate compartments 10 of different cross sectional and longitudinal. diameters separated by partitions 11 and adapted for the respective reception of capsule boxes 12 of the commercial type in which they are received by the pharmacists from the manufacturer and which boxes are ordinarily placed upon the counter or shelves in a separate or unrelated condition requiring the handling of the pharmacist in the selection of the size which he desires to use in the filling of a particular prescription. The compartments of the cabinet forming the subject of this invention are open at their front ends with suitable finger notches 13 in the lower walls thereof to give ready access in grasping a capsule box contained therein, and the different compart- Serial No. 535,490.
ments are of relatively different sizes to accommodate the capsule boxes correspond ing with the different sizes of capsules which are furnished therein, so that by replacing the capsule boxes in their proper compartments of the cabinet for use, the sizes selected or required by the pharmacist in filling a particular prescription can be grasped immediately and without loss of time or confusion in making a selection and without special reference to the designated or indicated sizes of the capsule as displayed on the container.
The cabinet is provided at its front edge with an upturned flange 14 desgned to bear against and lie in a co-extensive relation with the front edge of a shelf or counter 15 to which it may be attached by tacks 16 or equivalent fastening means, and at its rear edge the cabinet is also preferably provided with a plurality of ears 17 for engagement by similar fastening means 18 driven into the underside of the shelf or counter.
The device is designed to occupy a position which otherwise is not utilized in connection with a prescription counter or cabinet in that its support beneath the shelf or counter does not interfere with the use of the shelf or counter for other purposes nor obstruct the use of the lower shelf or counter ordinarily reserved for bottles and like rcceptacles which require a substantially horizontal rest or support.
Having described the invention what is claimed as new and useful. is
A capsule cabinet for pharmacists prescription counters having a plurality of dimensio-nally graduated compartments open at their front ends for the respective reception of capsule containing boxes and provided withmeans for attachment to the under surface of a shelf or counter consisting of an up-turned front flange for attachment to the front edge of a shelf or counter and rearwardly directed ears for attachment to the under surface thereof.
In testimony whereof he affixes his signature.
