Description
ROBERT C. FINE, 0F LOS ANGELES, CALIFORIA.
sUsPEN'sonY Joux-STRAP.
Speeication of Letters Patent.
Patented Nov. 12, 1918.
Application led January 2, 1918. Serial No. 209,851.
To all @07mm z't may concern.'
o Be it known that I, ROBERT C. Finn, a cltizen of the United States, residing at Los Angeles, in the county of Los Angeles and State of California, haveinvented certain new and useful Improvements in Suspensory J oak-Straps, of which the following is a specification.
My invention has relation to im rovements in suspensory bandages, and t e object of the invention is to provide a bandage that will be simple in construction, easily and conveniently applied to the human form, readily adjusted, and cannot become shifted from its proper position, there by overcoming the greatest fault in all suspensory bandages heretofore in use, and it is furthermore inexpansive in its construction. With tlese and other objects in view, the invention consists in the novel construction and. combination of parts, as will be hereinafter more in detail described, and the asserted novelty specifically claimed.
I have fully and clearly illustrated my invention in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a front elevation of my invention, and Fig. 2 is a side view of the same applied to the human form.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in the several figures.
Referring to thedrawings by letter, A designates a sack and its appurtenances consisting of supporting straps B, B. C designates an elastic strap which is adapted to extend across the abdomen, having its ends secured to straps B, B by means of sewing or in any suitable manner. It will be noticed further that a shorter strap D is located below the elastic strap C and designed to secure the sack proper tor the straps B, B in a similar manner to the strap C. The straps B, B are buckled together' at one point b v means of a buckle E. The usual opening F is formed in the sack for the relief of the wearer in urinating, when desired. G. designates adjustable elastic leg straps the lower ends of which are permanently secured to the lower back portion of the sack A by means of sewing, or in any suitable manner, and are buckled at their free ends by means of the usual buckles H, H. The division strap D across the lower abdomen serves to bring the pressure on the lower abdomen directly over the part .where rupture would occur. By such constr ion of my suspensory of a V-shaped contour it will be seen that it is designed to fit snugly within the crotch of the human form, and the elastic straps G, fastened to the back lower portion of the sack and running between the thighs and brought around on each side of the hips and fastened to straps B, B hold the sack in the natural position of support un- .der the most violent exercise without any kling straps snugly, when putting on the suspensory.
A suspensory without the leg straps be'- comes dislodged frequently when the wearer does not maintain a standing position.
From the foregoing description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing. the operation of my suspensory is obvious, and further description herein is deemed unnecessary.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim'and desire to secure by Letters Patent is: The combination with a suspensory sack provided with an opening therein; of supporting straps, an `abdominal strap having its ends secured to the said supporting straps. a divisional strap secured to and located between the suspensory sack and the supporting straps below the abdominal strap. two elastic straps secured to the back and lower end of the sack having the free ends thereof passed between and around the thighs, and secured by buckles to the supporting strapsbetween the abdommal and divisional straps. the whole as constructed constituting both front and back a V-shaped suspensory.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
ROBERT C. FINE.
