Be it known that I, CARL O. KRATZ, a citizen of the United States, residing at the town of Attleboro, in the county of Bristol and State of Massachusetts, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Glass-Holders, of which the following is a speciication.

This invention relates to holders such as are commonly employed to receive mineral and soda water drinking-glasses; and the object in view is to provide a device of this char acter with an adjusting means, to permit the device to receive glasses of different diameters. Y

The invention consists of a series of arms having extensions provided with pins, and a finger-operated disk having eccentric slots engaging the said pins, whereby turning the disk the arms are caused to move either inwardly or outwardly to the position desired to receive the glass.

In the accompanying sheet of drawings, wherein like reference characters indicate like parts, Figure l is a vertical section of the glass-holder as constructed in accordance with my invention. Fig. 2 is an inverted view of the device, showing the operable disk for adjusting the arms. Fig. 3 is a similar view, with the disk removed and showing the engaging pins of the arms. Fig. 4 is a top view of the base member. Fig. 5 is a similar view, showing the disk with one of the arms in engagement therewith.

My improved device consists of a base -a-g arms -Z and a disk -o-, and these members are stamped up, bent, and cut to the proper form from thin metal. The base member -ais circular and has a flat top alwhich is stamped up to provide four crosswise shallow channels, as at -a2-, and said member is also provided with openings through its annular wall, as at -a3-, to register with the said channels. The stamped portion a4- of the base member forms a seat for the glass indicated by dotted lines -g. Each arm -bis bent to form a flat extension -b1-, which enters through each opening -a3- and channel -a2- of the base member. The bent portions -blof the arms are iiush with the bottom face of the top a1- and each arm projects vertically from its portion -b1- and is curved, as at -2-, to conform with the curvature 0f the glass.

In the construction of one arm of the device more stock is employed in order to provide an integral handle, as -b3-- A stud -a5- is secured centrally of the top of the base member -a\-, to form a pivot center for the disk -c-. The disk member orests upon the bottom faces of the top a1- and extensions -blof the arms, and said disk is provided with four equidistant eccentric slots to form guides, as at -c1-, for engaging a pin 54- secured in each extension -b1 of said arms. The disk member -ois held from displacement by means of a spring-pin Z9- which passes through the stud -a5-, and the ends of said pin bear against the disk a tension sufficient to prevent looseness of the latter upon the device. By turning the disk -cthrough integral finger-wings -02- formed thereon, the eccentricity of its slot arrangement causes the arms to move together to the position desired to receive the glass. Instead of employing separately a stud a5- and pins b4- the stock may be swaged and indented at these respective points to serve the purpose, as is obvious.

What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent, isd

A holder for drinking-glasses comprising a base member having an annular wall and a fiat top, and channels formed in the top and providing entering openings below the latter; a stud centrally of the top of said base member; arms slidable in the channels and having lateral extensions to pass through the openings, each arm having a pin, and one of said arms bent to form a handle; a iingeroperated disk secured to the stud and provided with a series of equidistant eccentric slots engaging the pin of each arm, substantiallv as described.
