Be it known that we, JOHN MOTZNIK and RUDoLF D. MOTZNIK, citizens of the United States, residing at Cuyahoga Falls, in the county of Summit and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Porch-Swings, of which the following is a specification. 7

This invention relates to porch swings, and has for its object to provide an improved porch swing the parts of which are adjustable to various positions for special purposes. Thus the parts can be adjusted to form an inclosed swinging crib, in which a small child can be placed. Also the parts can be adjusted to form a couch.

A further feature of the device is the provision of a foot board which by pressure thereon assists in swinging the device.

Various other features of improvement will be apparent from the following description and the accompanying drawings.

Referring specifically to the drawings, 6 indicates the suspending chains by which the swing is hung, these chains being conframe, said ends also including the legs 8. Slats 9 extend between the ends to form a seat. The slatted back 10 is pivoted to the end pieces at 11, and the middle rails of the ends are extended rearwardly as indicated at 12 to form supports for the segment bars 13 which have notches in which the rod lt may be engaged to support the back at various angles or inclinations. The rod has collars 15 thereon to prevent the same slipping outv of the notches. The manner'of adjusting the back is obvious. The slats forming the foot rest 16 are attached to side bars 17, the rear ends of which fit between the legs 8,

and these bars are provided with holes 17 and 17 b to receive pins A and B on the rear legs 8 according to=-the desired adjustment.

When used as a seat swing, the bars 17 are fastened in lower position by thev pins B and are connected to the front chains 6 by.

In the crib form shown in Fig. 2, the foot rest is removed. from its position below the seat, and is stood up 'edgewise between the front edges of the ends, where it may be fixed by pins 22 orother fastening devices a at the bottom, and the. upper ends of the bars 17 are attached by short chains 23 to the chains 6. This makes a crib closure in which a small child may be placed, when usingthe swing as a cradle.
