RICHARD LINK, .OF AKRON, OHIO.
. DEVICE FOR RETAINING CREASES.
Specification of Letters Patent.
PatentedfJuly 20, 1915.
Application filed January 18, 1915. Serial 0. 2,928.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, RICHARD LINK, a sub-v ject of Austria, residin at Akron, in the county of Summit and tate of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Devices for'Retaining Greases, of which the following is a specification.
The present invention relates to improvements in devices for retaining creases in trousers legs.
The primary object of the invention is the provision of a device of this character, which can be readily attached to or removed from the leg of a trousers, preferably at the inner portion of the cuff, and which will when applied thereto, hold the said trousers le in its proper creased position, the same being of such construction, that it will not interfere in any Way with the wearer, either when applying or removing the trousers.
Another object of the invention resides in the provision of a device of this character, which will be comparatively simple and inexpensive to manufacture, reliable and efficient in use, and readily operated.
With the above and other objects in view, the pr sent invention resides in the novel features of construction, formations, combinations and arrangements of parts to be hereinafter more fully described, claimed and illustrated in the drawing, it being understood in this connection that various minor changes in the specific details of construction can be resorted to within the scope of the appended claim without departing from the spirit or sacrificing any of the advantages of the invention.
In the accompanying one sheet of drawing, forming a part of this application, Figure 1 is a view illustrating my invention applied to the leg of a pair of trousers; Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the device removed. Fig. 3 is a horizontal sectional View taken through one end of the device as disclosed in Fig. 2.
Referring to the accompanying drawing by similar characters of reference throughout the several views, the numeral 5 designates a fragment of a trousers leg, provided if desired with a end 6, it being understood however that this cuff may or may not be used as occasion necessitates.
My improved crease retaining device is shown at 7, and consists .of the novel con- Goples of this patent may be obtained for five cents each, by addressing the I Washington, D. G.
struction to be hereinafter more fully described. Retaining clips are secured in any suitable manner to the sides of the device '7 and are preferably in the form of straps 8, to the intermediate portions of which are secured fastening elements 9, adapted to engage corresponding elements secured within the trousers leg 5, thus providing a means for detachably connecting the device within the leg or. legs of a pair of trousers. One form of device comprises a pair of resilient, outwardly bowed side members, in-I cased 1n coverings. such as shown at 11. The
side members are shown by the numerals 10. The ends of the coverings are extended beyond the ends of the members 10 and are secured together by stitching or the like, as shown at 12. The ends of the members 10 meet at a sharp acute angle as shown at 13,
thereby engaging the crease in the trousers and retaining the said trousers leg 5 in its creased position.
From; the foregoing disclosures taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, it will be manifest that a device for retaining creases in trousers and the like is provided, which will fulfill all the necessary requirements of such an article.
Having thus fully described this invention, What I claim as new and desire to protect by Letters Patent is:
In a device of the character described, a
yielding flexible frame of substantially elliptical shape and plan view having the ends thereof pointed, a covering for said frame including inner strips conforming to the shape of said frame and having the ends thereof extended in parallel relation between the ends of the sides of the frame and extending beyond the ends ofthe frame, outer strips engaging the outer sides of the frame and having their ends extended in engagement with the extended ends of the inner strips beyond the ends of the frame, and stitching passing through the parallel ends of the strips beyond the ends of the frame for retaining the parts in their normal position.
In testimony whereof I aflix in presence of two witnesses.
RICHARD LINK. Witnesses:
