Be it known thatl, 4JONATHAN R; WEBBER, of Morris, in the county of Grundy and State of Illinois,

l have invented a `Fastener for -Doors and other `purposes; and I'` do hereby declare that the -following is `a full and exact description thereof', which will enable those skilled in thefart to make andV use the` same, reference' being had to the accompanying draw'- V ing and letters marked thereon, making a part of'this specification, `in which-` l Figure 1 is an elevation my fastener attached. a y Thenature of ythe present invention consists in so of a` door and frame, with constructing a circular diskor fastener which is pivoted `to a 'door-casing, that Lit is held in place by its `gravit-y alone, when turned over on the casing to allow l the door to open, and, when turned over on the door, lto `hold it shut, saidfastener being provided with a knob to moveit, and' also with a curved slot, through which a screw is put to regulate the distance the Vdisk is'to turn, and also to assist `in holding the disk in l iplace.` l

I, however, disclaim any right or novelty in placing :a latch, catch, or button, directly over a -door which hangs by its own gravity or operates automatically directly over the gate, door, 8vo., to hold it in, place.
