Abstract

Disclosed is an absorbent article comprising a liquid-permeable skin-contacting surface, a liquid-permeable skin-noncontacting surface, and a liquid-retentive absorbent member interposed between said skin-contacting surface and said skin-noncontacting surface, wherein said skin-contacting surface comprises a nonwoven fabric comprising a first area having a plurality of perforations and a second area having no perforations; said first area is provided in approximately the central portion of said absorbent article along the longitudinal direction thereof, said perforations defined by said nonwoven fabric extending from the top side towards the back side of said skin-contacting surface in such a manner that each of said perforations is surrounded by said nonwoven fabric, and each portion located between adjacent perforations having a curved surface to provide convexity with an apex; and said second area is provided in both sides of said absorbent article along the longitudinal direction thereof and has been subjected to embossing.
