Abstract
A liquid crystal display device of the present invention having high voltage retention and able to control the residual charge is provided. A liquid crystal aligning agent and a polyamic acid or derivative thereof is as well provided to manufacture the liquid crystal display device. A composition of the present invention comprises two kinds or more of the polyamic acid or derivative thereof. The composition comprises (A) the polyamic acid or derivative A thereof, and (B) the polyamic acid or derivative B thereof. The (A) is obtained from a reaction between of a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride A2 and a diamine A1 having diamines as shown in the general formula (I) or (I') below. The (B) is obtained from a reaction between a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride B2 and a diamine B1 having diamines with side-chain structure. However, n represents the integer 1 or 2.
