Abstract

A hot swapping arrangement (46) for a hot swapping connector assembly (48), the hot swapping arrangement (46) comprising a receptacle device (12) having an opening (28) for receiving a plug device (14); two electrically conductive receptacle contact members (30) arranged in the opening (28); an electrically conductive switching arrangement (32) movable between a closed state in which the switching arrangement (32) establishes an electrical connection between the receptacle contact members (30), and an open state in which the switching arrangement (32) does not establish an electrical connection between the receptacle contact members (30); an electrically insulating breaking element (34) movable between a passive position and an active position in response to insertion of the plug device (14) into the opening (28), wherein movement of the breaking element (34) from the passive position to the active position causes the switching arrangement (32) to move from the closed state to the open state.
