Abstract
The paste comprises graphite of well below the 0.2 non fraction, 75-80, fine sodium carbonate 20-25, and calcium hydroxide in the form of milk of lime 1-5 per cent respectively. The components are mixed to give a consistent paste which can be brushed on to the steel surface. The paste enriches with carbon the alloy layers applied later to the steel.
