Abstract
Se proporcionan sistemas y métodos para controlar un procedimiento de tratamiento por radiofrecuencia (RF). En algunas modalidades, el método puede incluir: llevar a cabo, con un controlador programable, al menos las siguientes funciones: medir un flujo de energía eléctrica a través de una almohadilla de tierra que está en contacto con al menos una parte de la piel de un sujeto; determinar, con base en el flujo de energía eléctrica medido, un factor de calentamiento que representa una medida del calor absorbido por el sujeto durante un período de tiempo en respuesta al tratamiento del sujeto con una sonda de radiofrecuencia eléctrica, y comparar el factor de calentamiento con un umbral predeterminado.
