PURPOSE:To provide a novel method of cleaning scales which are generated in the heat exchanger of an acidic gas remover in a gasification process, and which are difficult to be cleaned by cleaning the heat exchanger in two stages of cleaning by an alkali solution of high concentration heated to a temperature higher than a specific temperature and pickling, and using in a combination a nitrogen gas bubbling operation.
