Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily and rapidly remove water-bloom by introducing the raw water in which the water-bloom is propagated to a flotation tank and releasing the fine foam formed by pressure dissolution into the water from the lower part of the tank to float the water-bloom on the water surface, then removing the water-bloom in the form of sludge. CONSTITUTION:The raw water in which the water-bloom is propagated is introduced into a flocculating and intimate mixing tank 3 where the water is mixed with the flocculating agent from a flocculating agent storage tank 4. This water mixture is transferred to the flotation tank 5. The treated water taken out of a circulation pump 6 is mixed with the compressed air from a compressor 7 by a line mixer 8 and is press-fed into a pressurization tank 11. The fine foam formed by the pressure dissolution is released into the water from the lower part of the tank 5 by which the flocculating agent is brought into contact with the water-bloom in the tank 5 and is stuck thereto. The apparent sp. gr. of the water-bloom is thereby reduced and the water- bloom is floated on the water surface. The floated water-bloom is removed as sludge by a scraper 9. As a result, the water-bloom is easily and rapidly removed and the raw water is cleaned.
