PURPOSE:To obtain a device which is light and excellent in strength by forming each of a rail on a vehicle body side and a rail on a seat side into a double structure, multiply engaging both with each other, and forming a rack by utilizing the board thickness of two board materials and engaging a pinion with it. CONSTITUTION:A pair of right and left rail units 10 are formed by relatively movably fitting a vehicle-body side rails 20 to seat side rails 30, and the vehicle- body side rails 20 are formed by fixing first rail members 21 having fitting flanges 23 on both side edges respectively to second rail members 25 with a groove-shaped section back to back. And, the seat side rails 30 are formed by fixing first holding rail members 31 which are holdingly fitted on the fitting flanges 23 of the first rail members 21 respectively and second holding rail members 35 which are holdingly fitted on the side walls of the groove-shaped section of the second rail members 25 respectively. And, a rack is carved on the inner edge of a long groove 28 formed through the back walls of the rail members 21, 25, and a pinion 45 which is rotatably supported by the seat side rails 30 is engaged with the rack 29.
