Abstract
PURPOSE: To impart water repellency excellent in washing resistance, etc. to cloth without causing phenomenon of electrification or oil staining by applying a specific phosphazene compound (a phosphorus-nitrogen compound) to the cloth and heat treating the cloth. CONSTITUTION: A solution containing a phosphazene compound expressed by the formula: (NPR2 )n [(n) is >=3; R is an alkoxy, an aryloxy, an alkylthio, an arylthio, a fluoroalkoxy, a perfluoroalkoxy or amino], especially comprising a cyclic compound with (n)=3 is applied to a knit and woven fabric comprising natural, semi synthetic and synthetic fibers by a padding method, then, the fabric is dried and heat treated. By using a cross-linking agent such as an isocyanate or the like, more excellent water repelling effects are obtained in durability.
