ロアである。 As a conventional mounting structure for a knee protector for a vehicle, there is a structure shown in FIGS. 1 to 4, which is known, for example, from Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 51-48120. 1 in the diagram
is a knee protector, and this knee protector 1 is located at the lower part of the instrument panel 2 and absorbs the impact on the lower body 5 (particularly the knees 6) of the occupant 4 on the front seat 3 side in the event of a vehicle collision. A shoulder belt 8 fixes the upper body 7 (in this case, a waist belt is not provided). ] Together with this, they form an occupant protection system called the DK type (diagonal knee protector type). Note that the shoulder belt 8 is normally provided with an emergency lock mechanism 9. The knee protector 1 specifically consists of a protector main body 10, an upper member 11 and a lower member 12 that hold the protector main body 10, and vehicle side portions 11a and 1 of each of the upper member 11 and the lower member 12.
2a is fixed to the dash side panel 13, and the center portion 11 of both members 11 and 12 in the vehicle width direction is fixed.
Instrument stay 1 with b and 12b as supporting members
It is fixed and supported by 4. The instrument stay 14 has an upper end 15 attached to a dash upper panel 16 and a lower end 17 attached to a lower part 19 of a dart lower panel 18. Further, the protector main body 10 is protruded and curved from both members 11 and 12 toward the rear of the vehicle (in the direction A in the figure), and the distance l 1 between the protruding end 20 and the knee 6 of the occupant 4 allows an emergency locking mechanism to be activated in the event of a collision. 9 and the amount of movement of the lower body 5 of the occupant 4 due to the elongation of the shoulder belt 8 itself.
The distance l2 between the two members 11 and 12 makes it possible to absorb the amount of inertial movement of the lower body 5 after the emergency lock mechanism 9 is activated. In addition, 21 in the figure is the engine, 2
2 is a transmission, 23 is an air conditioner unit, 24 is a cowl top panel, and 25 is a floor.

As a result, the front of the vehicle is greatly crushed due to the collision, and the engine 21 and transmission 22 at the front of the vehicle move rearward (in the A direction), applying impact to the dash upper panel 16 and the dart lower panel 18. Since the darts upper panel 16 is integrated with the cowl top panel 24 to form a box, it does not deform much, but the darts lower panel 18 deforms significantly, and the lower end 17 of the instrument stay 14 attached thereto As a result, the knee protector 1 supported by the instrument stay 14 moves rearward (in the A direction), and the distance l between the protruding end 20 of the protector body 10 and the knee 6 of the occupant 4 decreases. 1 becomes shorter, and during this time the emergency lock mechanism 9
The knee 6 hits the knee protector 1 without being able to completely absorb the amount of movement of the lower body 5 of the occupant 4 due to the delay in activation and the stretching of the shoulder belt 8 itself.
Therefore, the distance l 2 is the effective amount of collapse of the protector body 10. Even if the protector body 10 is crushed, the lower body 5 of the occupant 4 still tries to move, so the knees 6 and other legs collide with both the upper and lower members 11 and 12. There was a problem with injuries. Therefore, the lower end 1 of the instrument stay 14, which is a supporting member,
7 is attached to the floor 25, which is less susceptible to deformation in the event of a collision (not shown).
However, in this case, the instrument stay 1 is placed next to the feet of occupant 4.
There were problems in that the number 4 was placed in the way, not only did it look bad, but also spoiled the feeling of spaciousness underfoot.

目的としている。 This idea was created by focusing on these conventional problems, and the lower end of the support member is connected to a connecting member provided at the bottom of the lower darts panel, and through this connecting member, the darts are connected in the event of a vehicle collision. It is an object of the present invention to solve the above-mentioned problems by making the deformation force applied to the lower end of the support member more absorbable than the lower panel.

In the figure, 30 is a connecting member, which is interposed between the lower end 17 of the instrument stay 14, which is a supporting member, and the lower part 19 of the dart lower panel 18. Further, this connecting member 30 is connected to the instrument stay 1.
The lower end 17 of the lower part 18 of the lower part 18 of the lower part 18 of the lower part 18 of the lower part 18 of the lower part 18 is set to have a length l3 corresponding to the expected amount of deformation in the event of a collision.
The lower end 17 of the instrument stay 14 is inserted into the leading end 31 of the connecting member 30, and the leading end 31 of the connecting member 30 and the lower end 17 of the instrument stay 14 are connected with a resin bolt 32. still,
In this case, the installation stay 14 is set to be shorter by an amount corresponding to the length l 3 of the connecting member 30.

When the second class collides with the darts lower panel 18 and the lower part 19 of the darts lower panel 18 is deformed, the deforming force is transferred to the resin bolt 32 via the connecting member 30.
At some point, the resin bolt 32 is sheared. Then, the connection between the tip 31 of the connecting member 30 and the lower end 17 of the instrument stay 14 is released, leaving only the connecting member 30 with the instrument stay 14 intact.
4 by the amount of deformation of the lower part 19 of the dart lower panel 18. Therefore, the deforming force of the dart lower panel 18 is not transmitted to the instrument stay 14 but is absorbed by the connecting member 30, and the knee protector 1 supported by the instrument stay 14 does not move and effectively protects the knee of the occupant 4. 6 can be protected.

る。 A second embodiment is shown in FIGS. 7 and 8. In this embodiment, the connecting member 30 in the first embodiment is
The tip 31 of the instrument stay 14 and the lower end 17 of the instrument stay 14 are connected with a normal metal bolt 40, and
A sliding groove 41 that allows the connecting member 30 to slide relative to the metal bolt 40 at the connecting portion of the connecting member 30
is formed. In this state, the connecting member 30
is interposed between the lower end 17 of the instrument stay 14 and the dart lower panel 18, so that the lower end 17 of the instrument stay 14 can be moved from the lower end 17 of the instrument stay 14 through the sliding groove 41 of the connecting member 30 when the vehicle crashes. It is designed to absorb the deforming force applied to the Note that a resin washer 42 is interposed between the metal bolt 40 and the connecting member 30 so that the connecting member 30 can slide smoothly.

In this embodiment, the connecting member 50 is formed into a substantially U-shape, and both ends 51, 51 of the connecting member 50 are attached to the lower part 19 of the dart lower panel 18.
Then, the lower end 17 of the instrument stay 14 is attached to the rear protruding surface 52 of the connecting member 50. By interposing the connecting member 50 between the lower end 17 of the instrument stay 14 and the dart lower panel 18 in this state, the rear protruding surface 52 of the connecting member 50 can be deformed, thereby preventing a vehicle collision. When the instrument stay 14 is removed from the needle lower panel 18
The deformation force applied to the lower end 17 of is absorbed.
