Abstract

PURPOSE:To set up proper speed for laminating a transparent synthetic resin film forming an adhesive layer on a print or the like and to prevent a film from modification and deformation by delaying the carrying speed of a carrying and fixing devices from the carrying speed of transfer paper obtained at the time of normal operation of a copying machine. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic latent image corresponding to an original image is exposed to the surface of a photosensitive drum of an electrophotographic copying machine by an exposing device 11 and the latent image is developed with toner by a developing device 13. Transfer paper is carried to a carrier 20 by paper feeding and carrying rollers 24-26 and a toner image formed on the drum 10 is transferred to the carried transfer paper by a transferring/ separating device 15 and the transfer paper is separated from the drum 10. The transfer paper is heated by a fixing device 30 to fix the toner image. The carrying speed of the carrying and fixing device is delayed from the normal devices to obtain proper speed for laminating the transparent synthetic resin film on which an adhesive layer is formed on the print.

(Prior art) Sheet-like printed materials such as identification cards, cards, business cards, posters, maps, etc. have drawbacks such as being easily wrinkled and bending, and furthermore, they tend to get dirty, scratched, etc. with use. There is a risk that it will stick, and its lifespan is very short. For this reason, recently, such sheet-like printed matter is laminated with a transparent synthetic resin film. This lamination makes the sheet-like printed matter waterproof, makes it resistant to stains and scratches, and prevents bending and wrinkles, thereby significantly improving the durability of the sheet-like printed matter.

This is carried out by arranging a sheet-shaped printed matter or the like so that the surface on which the adhesive layer is formed is joined to the surface of the sheet-shaped printed matter or the like to be laminated, and passing the sheet-shaped printed matter through the inside of the laminating machine. This special laminating machine heats and presses the laminate that passes through it twice to adhere and laminate the sheet-like printed matter and the transparent synthetic resin film. When laminating the back side of a printed matter, etc., the transparent synthetic resin film with an adhesive layer formed thereon may be placed on the back side as well, and the film may be passed through a special lamination machine. ~ What types of printed sheets, etc. should be laminated?

(Means for solving the problem) A special laminating machine heats and presses the inserted transparent synthetic resin film on which the adhesive layer is formed and the sheet-like printed matter, melting the adhesive of the adhesive layer and bonding the two together. It is something that is attached. The inventor of the present invention has focused on the fact that an electrophotographic copying machine has a function of heating and pressurizing a sheet-like printed matter or the like.

The heat fixing device of an electrophotographic copying machine uses a heated roller to heat and melt a toner image transferred to a transfer paper while applying pressure, and fix the toner image on the transfer paper. The fixing device is usually set at a temperature of 180 to 200°C.

Normally, when laminating sheet-like printed matter etc. with a transparent synthetic resin film on which an adhesive layer is formed, the printed matter is heated to a temperature that melts the adhesive of the adhesive layer formed on the transparent synthetic resin film, and the printed matter etc. When the temperature of the fixing device and the transparent synthetic resin film are kept constant, it is necessary to transport the transparent synthetic resin film at a speed that ensures reliable adhesion. If the conveyance speed is too fast, the two will not be bonded securely, and if the conveyance speed is too slow, the adhesive layer may melt and flow out, and the synthetic resin film may shrink due to heat and become curled or wavy. .

As before, the first order is as follows. In this case, the transport speeds of the a-feeding device and the fixing device 30 are set to transport speeds suitable for copying. For example, when the copying speed is 10 sheets per minute, the conveyance speed is set to about 5 to 7 m/min. When the copying operation is started, the photoreceptor on the surface of the photoreceptor drum 10 is uniformly charged by the charging device 14, and the image of the document placed on the document table 12 is transferred to the exposure device 11.
The surface of the photoreceptor drum 10 is exposed to light. This exposure forms an electrostatic latent image on the surface of the photoreceptor drum 10. The electrostatic latent image is developed with toner by a developing device 13 as the photosensitive drum 10 rotates. On the other hand, the paper feed roller 24 or 25. (Effects of the Invention) As described above, in the electrophotographic copying machine of the present invention, the adhesive layer is formed so that the conveying speed of the conveying device and the fixing device is slower than the speed at which transfer paper is conveyed during normal copying operation. The speed can be set to 3 to 5 m/min, which is suitable for laminating a transparent synthetic resin film to a printed matter or the like. Therefore, during this lamination, a laminate in which a transparent synthetic resin film on which an adhesive layer is formed is laminated onto a sheet-like printed matter or the like.

Since it can be passed through the fixing device at this speed, there is no risk of poor adhesion between the transparent synthetic resin film on which the adhesive layer is formed and the printed matter due to the transport speed being too high. Furthermore, if the conveyance speed is too slow, there is no risk that the transparent synthetic resin film or the adhesive layer will be heated too much, resulting in denaturation or deformation of the transparent synthetic resin film, or the adhesive in the adhesive layer flowing out to the surface side.
