Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent generation of a notch part at the foot of a protruded pattern part, by a method wherein in relation to a rubber printing block to be used for printing on a thick and elastic component after a foil has been attached to the outside of a rubber base at a predetermined pattern and arrangement and after application of water jet to the whole area, the foil is removed. CONSTITUTION:After a foil 8, which is harder than a rubber base and is superior in wear resistance, has been molded into a predetermined letter and symbol, the same is attached to a rubber base 1 at a predetermined arrangement. Then after application of water jet 10 to the whole area of the surface of the rubber base 1, to which the pattern foil has been attached, the pattern foil is peeled and removed. In addition to the above, finish is performed by attaching the rubber base, which has been printed, to a predetermined base roll 4. In consequence of the above, a notch part to be generated through manual engraving does not occur, the surface of the pattern becomes a curved surface running along a roll curvature and finish printing becomes favorable.

Prior Art Conventionally, a craftsman used a chisel to carve out a rubber segment for a printing plate as shown in FIG. As shown in FIG. 6, a notch 3' inevitably occurs at the base of the pattern protrusion 2', and when the roll 4' is wrapped and bonded, the notch 3' opens as shown in FIG. This becomes an opening 5'.

Therefore, the surface of the pattern protrusion does not become a curved surface along the roll, but remains flat, and the pattern surface and work surface do not come into uniform contact during rotary transfer, so the periphery of the printed character symbol is disordered. , a good finish could not be achieved, and the rate of print defects was high.

Means for solving the problem After attaching crystalline or amorphous alloy foil or resin foil, which is harder than the substrate material and has superior wear resistance, to the outer surface of the rubber substrate in a predetermined pattern and arrangement. After irradiating the entire surface with water jet, remove the pattern foil.

The operative waterjet removes the rubber substrate leaving the foil-covered pattern surface, thus creating a rubber printing plate without creating notches at the base of the pattern protrusions.

(c) Water jet (high pressure water jet) or
An abrasive water jet lO containing abrasive grains in water is applied to the rubber substrate surface to which the pattern foil is attached at a predetermined flow rate, water column diameter, gun transfer speed, and in the case of a laser beam, a predetermined energy, aperture rate, and scanning speed. After the entire surface is irradiated, the pattern foil is peeled off and removed.
