Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate influence of hydraulic pressure upon discs and to keep constant the contact surface pressure of a fixed disc and a movable disc by providing a movable disc close to a fixed disc with a disc cover having a passage axially pierced therethrough. CONSTITUTION:A movable disc 5 is slidably rotated with a disc cover 6 for a fixed amount on a fixed disc 4 by operating a lever 9 to connect or intercept a water passing hole 5a or 5b of the movable disc 5 and water passing hole 4a or 4b of the fixed disc, thereby stopping water and adjusting the flow rate. The disc cover 6 is adapted to seal up the outer peripheral edge of a comparatively narrow inlet passage through a packing 14 and simultaneously to connect an outlet passage 6 to the water passing hole 5a of the movable disc. Thus, hydraulic pressure load applied upon the movable disc at the time of closing a valve can be remarkably reduced.
